A club that everyone seems to pass by (on the m6). Made me think, what other clubs have grounds that are right next to a motorway? I know Forest Green are planning to be and Brentford used to be. Can you see their new ground from the m4?
I'd be amazed if you could see the McAlpine from the M62, it's got to be nearly three miles from the motorway and you have a ridge that runs next to the M62 between the motorway and the town.
You can see the arch roof of one of the stands. I think the M62 might be a fair bit higher elevation than the ground. Can't see the ground from this angle, but you can see the elevation difference.
Willing to be proven wrong but I don't think so. It's a fair distance between Deepdale and the M6 - more likely to be able to see the shopping centre I'd say.
Did make me wonder if Blackpool might be visible from the very end of the M55, but I think the stands are to low.

The problem plastics in Milton Keynes should get in the sea.
What's the furthest club now Blyth look like they are out?
South Shields
Away there in 2nd round would be wondrous wouldn't it? 4k at home i hear from my ne contacts
A bit rich Walsall calling anyone boring
Fun fact: Walsall were the last league club from the 92 (pre-promotion from the conference) to play at Wembley.

Yep, though not strictly the M4, more the Chiswick flyover.
Bolton Wanderers visible from the motorway
Villa Park a little along the M6 from Walsall
Elland Road just off the M621, although it’s not much of a motorway.
Not sure it counts but you can see The Coventry Building Society Arena (or whatever it's called these days) from the M6.
Is Reading's ground, whatever cheap name it currently goes under, visible from the M4? It's certainly near it.
Used to be, think a load of trees have grown now, so not so easy anymore
Definitely viewable from the M4 (Chiswick Flyover) which is around 80 metres away.
Easily the closest League ground to a Motorway
Sorry to be a pedant but surely the M4 can't be the Chiswick flyover as there is a 30 mph limit on it?
Motorways don't have to be 70mph, Ewen. I believe the flyover is still technically the M4.
I wonder which league ground is furthest from a motorway?
Definitely the M4, irrelevant of speed limits
Google Maps
Huddersfield's ground cuts quite a figure from the M62

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can just see Preston's Deepdale from the M6.
Just thought I've driven past Dortmund's ground as well as Celtic Park
Plymouth? Norwich?
Yeah, Carrow Rd was my first guess
Has to be Carrow Rd as there are no motorways in Norfolk
Officially M4 but does it not go into 2 lanes at any point? Which would make it a dual carriageway.
It wouldn't.
A motorway can have two lanes
And a dual carriageway can have one
Blackburn M65
