Scones are an inferior foodstuff to toast, crumpets and muffins, utterly devoid of versatility. The whole cream or jam first dichotomy was surely invented by someone who had bought heavily into scones without knowing this and needed to find a way of sexying them up to reluctant punters.
Sounds like Brexit is now ruining things for young Gibraltarian footballers playing in Spain - while it's not a problem at youth level, once they reach senior level Spanish clubs can only register a handful of non-EU players and Nicholas Pozo didn't make the cut for Cadiz after 9 years at the club https://x.com/LlanitoNL/status/1823345970936967219
Had been under contract for a couple more years as they wanted him to stick around but ACL injury last year slowed his progress. I reckon he'll try to get a move to England soon but sign a short term deal in Gibraltar just to get playing.
Not for the player! Although I do feel sorry for the poor chap as has had to take a slight cut in his £90k a week United wages. United have however sweetened the pill somewhat by giving him a £5.6m pay off to get him off their wage bill.
Gets them past some badly drawn rules but have to think in about 5 years we will be hearing about clubs taking players to court to get out of these contracts, things can quickly go sour for young prospects playing far away from home, 8 years is a very long time.
Bizarre run of posts altogether. But regardless of the difficulty of relating to someone who describes MK Dongs as their “beloved MK dons”, bob’s post does seem broadly plausible. His son may well have special needs/mental health issues, for example.
What has become starkly evident is that his beloved football club is currently in dire straits. The new owner(s) have a gargantuan task on their hands.
The demolition by Crawley Town in last season’s playoff semifinal was a clear indication of the writing being on the wall. That’s not to take away a lot of the credit bestowed upon Crawley by me and one or two others. They played superb football and, despite having lost some key players, they have got off to a good start.
In fairness to bob, and taking his post at face value, it’s impossible not to have a great deal of sympathy with him. I think I know how us lot would feel in similar circumstances.
Kindness, compassion and togetherness are the name of the game.
Yes and I did contemplate it being a serious (and somewhat sad) post. But in doing so it takes me through the Swiss cheese holes of trying to work out what cheese you could conceivably use to smear a legible message on a car?
Philidelphia perhaps but would you call that a cheese?

It's all a conspiracy by Big Scone

7 year contract for Wan-Bissaka at West Ham. These contract lengths are madness.
Thank God I didn't mention the Pasty.....
I don't understand why, but it's a good way of offsetting costs and staying under the salary cap.
Luca Woodhouse has joined Dag & Red on loan until January. Hopefully he'll kick on there and come back ready to compete here.
Seems like a good move. Decent level for him.

By Chelsea standards that's small cheese.
Palmer with a 9 year contract!
Chelsea are playing incredible 4D chess.
Unfortunately for them, they are playing terrible 3D football.

Milton Keynes losing 5-0 tonight.
ICT apparently still owe Ross County £20,000 for the loan of Alex Samuel last season.

Hartridge got himself sent off so he could swing by the MK car park before the final whistle.
That is one of the most bizarre posts I’ve ever seen, reading it at face value.
Presumably it is a piss-take well above my capabilities to understand.
Who hasn't taken their 32 year old son to a game and come back to discover their car smeared in cheese? That post spoke for all of us.
You should see him trying to get Udoh’s attention when he won’t pass him the ball.
Mine was smeared with marmite!

Dairylea? In fact writing on a car is possibly the only thing it's good for.
I find a mild cheddar good for writing on windscreens, though depending on the lipophobicity of the outer layer, you may be better off with a medium.
I feel like a Baby Bel would be similar to writing in wax crayon.
I suppose the message could have been sprayed on with one of those vile American "cheese" aerosols.
RC's car if Ainsworth goes to Reading....
Some people loved it though.
A decent read this and a point in time I do not remember, probably because we had just won the non league double the previous week.
