  • Interested in Graeme Pamphlet

  • Bit lightweight, struggled in windy conditions

Bristol Rovers at home the weekend before the miracle of Torquay. Heroic cup departures aside, the only time I've witnessed a defeat bring people to actual tears. Our club was going under and the pain was indescribable.

I'm still a bit haunted by a girl who can't have been more than 14-15 standing up in the Frank Adams absolutely screaming the swears and abuse Gareth and the team's way.
Sat next to her dad who wasn't even slightly moved by it.

I wish I could remember the game I was at that was so boring we came up with a fake starting XI, including a back story for all of the players.

                                               Todd Chadwick (GK)

Clifford Malone (RB) Danny Shoulders (CB) Henri Assét (CB) Anton Pallets (LB)

Davey Stewart (RW) Enrich Font (CM) Graeme Pamphlet (MC) Isiah Josiah-Issacs (LW)

Dirk Maastricht (CF) Tony Pornfinger (CF)

Just to clear up any doubt, that isn't me at right back

  • I thought it was, Cliff.

  • Pamphlet was always able to read a defence.

  • Seriously @arnos_grove, you now have to give us the back stories, or there will be a whole summer of Gasroom speculation to contend with.
    Then again ...

  • Enrich Font is an excellent name.

  • Was that THE Tony Pornfinger?

  • Thumbs up to that.

  • As MC, you would expect Pamphlet to have been a good communicator

  • We should create a @transfernews67545478 twitter handle and put the rumour out that Wycombe are interested in Isiah Josiah-Issacs, just to get the Facebook lot debating it.

  • We used to come up against the ex Dartford,Maidstone and Daggers defender Tony Pamphlet. He was an uncompromising central defender and certainly wouldnt flap about in the wind !!

  • He was a staple of their back four but often got booked.

  • He was certainly a book you could tell by his fearsome cover.

I was hoping that might tickle a few funny bones. Apparently not.

    Tumbleweed son.

  • The 2-0 defeat at Minehead in the late 70's (FA cup 1st round proper I think) was the worst for me

Just remembered when Ap hosted England U21 v Moldova U21 during, or just after Martin's era. Great (well some) excitement. All I remember is swapping sweets on the terrace . nil nil
