Really? I was under the impression the original lockdown (pre-Cummings) was highly effective in reducing the infection rate.
Certainly the ‘whack-a-mole’ strategy with local lockdowns isn’t close to working.

Where on Earth is your evidence for this? I've seen this claimed before, but only on the most selective of evidence, not including hospital admissions and deaths.
Until Bozzer got it and buggered up the optics the Cummings government had no intention of locking down at all and if you think they did it at all willingly you need your bumps felt. They will be forced into it again largely because of their own mishandling of testing and track and trace.
