  • he will not get the opportunity and Danny Cowley won't leave Lincoln either, they have the potential to be a very big club again and he is doing a great job and the fact he has finally made Wembley will be enough for him to stay, Paul Harsley till the summer if he gets a good result at the weekend.

  • @rmjlondon what went wrong with the Heckingbottom info old son? I don't think you've answered that one yet have you?

  • what went wrong ? Leeds have no idea what they are doing clearly good coach maybe but he will be out the door before very long.

@rmjlondon When were Lincoln ever a big club ? So where does again fit in? Danny Cowley actually didnt say he would or would not leave. He just did what any manager does. Dodged the question when asked.

Can you pick my lottery numbers please? Wish I could see into the future like you can.

  • Be warned @glasshalffull. He doesn’t have a 100% record.

Er, very very far off the 100% record. A closer guesstimate would be to knock the last zero off the end!

  • I think u will find Lincoln are the best supported club in League 2.

  • when was the last manager to move directly from league 2 to the championship as a manager ?

  • @rmjlondon Jimmy Floyd Hasslebank maybe? What's your point, you were still utterly incorrect about the Leeds appointment.

  • yes and I see leeds have come out to say they made a mistake appointing christensen which is absolute bollocks they were not complaining when they were top and then in the play offs !!

  • JFH worked his way up, I don't think there has been one for a very long time.

  • @rmjlondon You seem to be moving the goalposts with your line of questioning.

So I have to name a manager who has moved from League Two to the Championship, but hasn't worked his way up?

He made the move in 2015. How long ago is a very long time?

  • Ainsworth now 33-1 at SkyBet; McCarthy odds-on favourite.

  • Purely based on an internet search on this thread I am guessing.

  • never take much notice of betting on next manager odds but wouldn't it be a very odd career move to leave Ipswich to manage Barnsley?

  • richie predicts Leeds appointing Heckingbottom is 'farcical and will not happen'.
    Leeds appoint Heckingbottom.
Richie points out he is not wrong....Leeds are.
    Priceless.

  • @rmjlondon when you said "won't happen" means> @rmjlondon said:

I cannot believe you are accusing others of talking bollocks. Bit like Robert Mugabe scolding Vladimir Putin for electoral fraud.

  • @DevC I'm not sure that leaving Barnsley for the basket-case Leeds would be considered anything other than an odd career move!

Well they weren't when they were last in the football league! By your definition we are (or were then) a bigger club than Lincoln with an average attendance more than 700 above Lincolns

  • I'd have thought that if you were a manager wanting to secure yourself financially signing a multi year contract to be Leeds manager and then only working a few months of it was a great move. Has the added benefit of being risk free as everyone knows getting sacked from Leeds is no real reflection on your ability.

Purely financially, it is a no brainer. Very large increase in salary and a huge compensation cheque when he gets sacked which he inevitably will.

  • So the job will be available again by the time Gaz has seen us up!

All these managers think they are the one that will get it right. To be fair whoever does at Leeds will have a massive job at a huge club, wether that is achieved via their own brilliance, or by luck of being there when they have investment, owners behaving, or at least staying out of the way etc ...

Exactly this, all managers think they're good enough to turn a club round, otherwise why would they be a manager? And if you get it right at Leeds, you're quickly in the big big time.

  • I think it's probably time to send Dickie to the cooler for a bit.

Where would we get all the valuable inside information from the club then?
