  • Superb today. Decent atmosphere and 2 strong debuts from the young lads.

As others have said for my age group it's always about beating Col U. Fantastic we've done the double over them this season.

Police presence seemed a bit OTT but they've got plenty of morons in their support and it appears now so do we.

Great result. Bring on Crewe next week. COYB!

GA and co really do deserve such huge credit for scouting out these two loanees don't they? Especially at such short notice with an injury crisis. Credit where it's due.

Col U are an odd bunch. Quite loud at 0-0 and even at 1-0 seemed quite positive. Was particularly satisfying to see them dissipate out of the stands as we pulled away

  • We'd have been in severe trouble without them, with only 5 on the bench today.

How has WDH got injured for example.
    Freeman?

  • Can’t believe people could criticise Brown an amazing save in the second half what does he need to do to satisfy the numpties

  • Command his area?

  • that was a top save 2nd half... dont think he did much wrong today to be fair

  • Sido, Harriman, Stewart, el abd, WDH, Freeman all injured presumably

PCH and Saunders also going off with knocks today

With Eze going back too, and no replacement, really did great today with a bare bones squad

  • Their centre back did his best to utterly destroy Paris with that one brutal challenge.
Looked to be the classic win the ball then try and demolish the player.

Got quite a few of our boys upset, unsurprisingly

Was that the challenge the ref gave nothing for

  • At the game today, enjoyed that.

Got home and a chap on my street just informed me it’s all kicking off in town? Anyone seen or heard anything?

  • What did Moore actually do for his non-goal? I can only imagine how amazing it must have been from the comments.

Example of lack of command from the game

Basically waltzed past half of their team

  • @BuckinghamBlue . Yep. he did "win the ball", but if that wasn't applying too much force, I don't know what is!

@wandering days, he took a cross field ball immaculately, proceeded at pace, completely bamboozled a defender, opening up the whole goal, and only a good save, stopped it being the best debut goal in my 20+ years watching.

Interesting information, ox66. Does the "ground"include the surrounds like the car park as far as you know? I'd be assuming so since it's part of the same private property.

Outside the stadium private property doesn't come into it, if police are called inside the stadium then this maybe taken into consideration however the club and police tend to come to agreement over this. Luckily the police presence is a rare occasion now. In the conference and early days of league football every game was policed but due to dwindling numbers of police they are physically unable to do this.

The build up to that run from Moore was superb as well, cross field ball from CMS amazing, and the first touch from Moore sublime

Honestly think it would have been the best goal I have ever seen live at a game.

CMS would have been MOTM if I'd been choosing. Absolutely brilliant. What a player he is

My biggest concern remains the keeper. Not sure we can go up with him in goal. Surely we can get someone in on loan?

Really? Brown made two or three outstanding saves and I can’t recall anything he did wrong apart from the odd misplaced kick.

  • @Malone I guess you mean there were no examples of him not commanding his area

Oh, and the valley terrace not throwing the ball back was cretinous, and cringeworthy

    Pathetic scenes

As was the same stupid behaviour of the Col U fans doing likewise in the first half.

  • He's a good shot stopper, but he's rooted to his line for any low throws/ crosses

  • It was cretinous when the col u fans did it. Imagine then copying it

    Embarrassing

  • I’d just finished criticising the away end for childishly not throwing the ball back and ours did the same it’s bad enough acting like a nob but seeing someone else do it and copying it good grief

  • I honestly don't recall the Col U lot doing it, so presumably they did it once.

We did it repeatedly, for mins on end, so much so that even CMS and Bayo went over to the stand in a sort of "what are you plebs doing, get on with it" gesture.

  • Yes they did it but that’s no excuse

  • On the other hand, the singing on the terrace was good today including a handful of funny improvisations.

  • Yes, the noise coming from the terrace was very good today

  • Great game today and terrific performances from both new lads. The defence looked far more solid than it did last week. Police presence post match seemed to have moved to the vicinity of the Chiltern Taps on Oxford Road. Five or six police vans there + the horses.

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Cracking game today, against what I thought was a very good Colchester team, who caused us plenty of problems.

The 2 debutants did themselves proud. Moore looks a class act, if he had scored that goal, I think we may at last have had an equal to Dean Windass for the greatest ever Adams Park goal. McGinley I thought really struggled early on, but what a gutsy performance! He threw himself into blocks and tackles and as the crowd got begind him, grew into the game.

Blooms & CMS were superb today and the weeks rest seems to have done the likes of Bayo & JJ a world of good.

And what a strike from O'Nien! Bought back memories of that Brown screamer from all those years ago.

  • @ray-barone Walked back into town. Very strong police escort for Col U fans past the Hour Glass. I then turned off. Sitting waiting for a bus at the bus station when a load of Col U fans passed through chanting obscenities. The phalanx came down the West Wycombe road and was escorted by a lot of police cars. The bus was held up as 2 horse boxes and dog vans appeared. Police horses were unloaded and went through the roundabout to escort them over the flyover. At least 6 police dog vans, without the dogs inside, parked in the outside lane. My bus got past to the left and fans next appeared starting to walk up the hill to the station.

Sadly, some of our fans weren't much better on the way to the ground by the chippy a group were gathering being marshalled by a guy who should know better at his age. Giving out instructions to 'his teenage troops'. On the way out, abuse being hurled at waiting Col U coaches quite pitiful really. Police horse 'charge' sorted them out although one of them was completely embarrassing trying to fight one of the horses. Spoke to a young family - their 1st match what a great example from our troublesome group let's hope they come back.

  • @woodlands, big bald guy? Saw him right in the thick of the action.

And "thick" really is the correct word.
