There's a remarkable amount of frothing on this thread but I'm struggling to understand exactly why. I get that changing policy halfway through a sales window smacks of incompetence / disregard. But in reality, nothing that has changed has effected the number of tickets available for general sale. Everyone who has been allowed to come back for a second ticket was always entitled to, if they waited for window three in the first place. No one has been allowed to buy more than two tickets each. I bet hardly anyone has gone back for an extra ticket - those who wanted to bring a mate would surely have waited in the first place so they could order now and sit next to them.
Comms has never been the club's strong point (I still shudder at memories of the postponed Fleetwood match) but here the bigger issue seems one of unnecessary complication. The club should've just had two windows - one where season ticket holders / share scheme / 500 club members could buy two tickets each and a second for general sale. A lesson they will hopefully learn for the fifth round.
And your constant insistence that masses of people weren't buying tickets because they couldn't face being in the lower tier was completely ridiculous too.
Kam dawn, kam down! I don't see why AH wouldn't agree to a standardized buying process, that must save man hours answering queries and keep the owners happy. ie:us!
In fact, I struggle to find the downsides to a standardized (sth/share/500 then 5? Home games then general sale or some variation thereof) system .
@NorsQuarters In fairness I think that was what the charter was designed to do. It can never be too prescriptive beforehand. What if we'd been drawn at Sutton for example where we'd get less tickets than we've got ST holders?
Sorry @Username I have an odd personality trait that means I work myself up about situations where I perceive an injustice. I must admit I now realise I have allowed myself to get a bit carried away with this whole ticketing thing. Thanks for pointing it out @Username and apologies to all I may have offended. I hope everyone who wants to gets to see the game.
@aloysius you are mistaken saying I bet hardly anyone has gone back for another ticket, I know of at least 20 who have and atmosphere least 20 who will today. Initially they just wanted to secure their own space, doesn't mean they only WANTED one but we're too nervous to hold out, the policy shift has allowed them to sort family and friends out. Ineed there is a whole wave of people who were working group all daye who did not even realise the backdoor had opened and are heading back tomorrow. I personally see no more that 300 making general sale now
@aloysius You can see the difference it makes if you look at the clubs own projections, based on the original selling scheme. This change can only result in fewer tickets going to general sale than was forecast. We'll find out by how many later today.
@aloysius I think it's the scrapping of the window 3 instruction that's got people annoyed. It said anyone who purchased in windows 1 & 2 was not allowed to purchase again until general sale. A claim I see has finally been edited out of their website comms in another crafty move. Winston Smith must be working overtime.
I'm fine because I have my ticket but this kind of chicanery can't be defended by a reasonable person, can it?
I may be reading too much into the situation but to me it seems that the boost given to the 500 club and half ST sales by people concerned that they would miss the boat has led to someone at the club keen to create a last day clamour tweaking the rules and upping the pressure on anyone still waiting for the general sale hopefully I'm wrong
@Morris_Ital More likely, based on the clubs own projections (which surprisingly still appears on the FAQ), had they not changed the rules there would have been over 1,000 tickets left for general sale. Maybe they were worried that with just 3 days remaining of their convoluted, dragged out selling process that they might struggle to sell them all. Of course the real issue is that having fewer tickets in window4 means less chance of them ending up with the regular supporters. The majority of our crowds at AP are not STH's but have been completely ignored. With local team Maidenhead due to be playing in the National league next season, I wonder how many might feel they'll be more welcome there?
I think this ticket situation has been pretty badly managed, but come on? Are you seriously suggesting people are going to start flocking to Maidenhead because the club is rotten from top to bottom?
The Trust and Board do a good job in difficult circumstance and communication is probably at its best for years, even if there is the odd amateur display.
No, of course I'm not suggesting that people will start flocking to Maidenhead. I'm just making the point that the club shouldn't take these people for granted. I reaslise, of course, that football supporters are a different breed to other 'customers' in that they are more likely to remain loyal but the fact is that next season, when Wycombe are playing away perhaps, there may be some that choose to watch an attractive Maidenhead home game. If they enjoy it then they may start picking and choosing a little more than they do now. All I'm saying, to repeat, is that the club should not take these supporters for granted. The club charter clearly states that for ticketed cup games the people that regularly attend games will be given priority ahead of general sale but the club chose to ignore that. And now, with this late change in the 'rules', they're making it even harder for regular supporters to get tickets.
To be fair the ticket situation has been badly handled for all those who are non season ticket, share scheme or 500 club. Who spend the little spare cash they have making as many games as they can, these are the people who have been unfairly done too, with no priority before general sale. Giving a non attendee as much chance as these poor souls. Noboy can argue with priority for season tickets, 500 club and share save but come on give regulars something more than general sale. As it happens the fans spirit has shoped to be amazing with season ticket holders graciously helping those regulars who have no priority but surely the club shold not be putting it on the fans to look after each other.
A lot of STH were waiting for Window 3 to help out non STH. For example, the well known diehard previously mentioned who bought 54 tickets. We got 27 season tickets together, to help out 27 mates who don't have season tickets but all attend games regularly so deserved priority over Joe Bloggs off the street (also means we could be stood in 1 big group). I don't see an issue with this, as this was all part of the original plan.
However, the fact STH who bought in Window 1 or 2 can now buy another 1 is very, very poor, as is the clubs managing of the 'change'. This means a lot less (if any) will be on General Sale.
Makes our plan of the 54 tickets very worthwhile, as the 27 regulars could've quite easily missed out otherwise.
@clifty04 I note you say you'll be stood in one big group....hopefully that'll be in the singing section, and not in front of @Onlooker or @Uncle_T ! :-)
Right, who on here is having to wait until the general sale that was hoping to have a preferential slot because of their past attendance record? I can still go back and claim a couple of tickets, mine and my son, whom is a junior so not sure if I can get an adult ticket or not. If so, I will happily go and get my entitlement to help out a regular supporter. I can go this afternoon.
I have an acquaintance who asked me to get him 2 tickets but I've declined, on the basis that his last attended game was the FA cup semi in 20001! Told him he will have to take his chances on the general, effin cheek!
The second ticket for each ST holder can be any one of - Junior, Adult, Senior - no matter what the ST holder's status is. Very quiet at AP today. No queue at 11.10 when I arrived.
apparently the phone lines have been down, just to add to the comedy overall.
Agree with the praise of Alan and Dale.
I'm sure people can understand that Alan especially is in an impossible position, with a family member being the twitter manager. He can't exactly slate him, or the orders from above as that might get a bit risky!
If you should miss out via WW you can always try StubHub.
At the moment there are 8 tix available in a West Stand ('posh stand') box at £60 each where I believe that away fans are allowed without colours.
Brilliant seats/view there.
Normal seats may appear later but away fans buy at their own discretion (indeed, sometimes only members can actually buy from the site -is, read the small print).

Onlooker you don't half come across as a tosser.
Yes it's a cock up, but it's not hateful.

And, based on the numbers, there were at least 300 people who bought tickets yesterday who had already bought 1 last week.

Blimey @Doob Really? Maidenhead? So they are not really arsed about Wycombe then and they change clubs just like that.
I think we're a long way from that

@Doob - In the singing section it is, so no threat @Onlooker and @Uncle_T. Unfortunately @wycombelad is out of luck...
@EwanHoosaami this is truly commendable, well done you sir
@clifty04 I do not want you view blocking or I will throw bovril at you
@EwanHoosami I am sure that you can use the Junior STH for an adult ticket as one of my mates was allowed to
