Lucky for me we had a copy in the office. Very interesting article. What with him, Bloomfield, Moushino and Williamson we have had hand in quite a few decent managers. 😀
Keogh-watch continues. A creditable win last night for FGR (I think it was their first league victory since October?) over 5th-placed Barrow.
Whilst you'd imagine Steve Cotterill taking charge is what's making the difference (and I remember how painfully solid his Shrewsbury sides were to play against recently) a team is only as good as the sum of its parts.
FGR still have it all to do, but relegation dogfights are slightly less painful if the team at least goes down fighting.
I wonder what the odds are of Mehmeti going to the Euros now he is a regular again at Bristol City? I would love to be able to follow Albania's fortunes if he made it there. Imagine him getting in against any of Italy, Spain or Croatia. What a group!
Christ, that standard of football is horrific. I’ve seen better phases of play in Sunday league. Pleased he’s hit the ground running through. Such a shame he didn’t make it for us.
TBF the team they played against are in shambles at the moment. Spent a fortune on pro players like Manny Duku, Dean Ebbe and Todd Kane (who was last at QPR) and then the money dried up by November. Everyone left in January except Ahmed Salam (the ex-Hull lad) and Cuba international Aldair Ruiz (I think, he's missed the last couple of games) so they're a mesh of amateurs they could get on non-contract deals and youth team players (several U18 players appeared yesterday) at the moment. Owner is AWOL and the previous owners are weighing up a hostile takeover to rescue the club in the summer. So they slipped from possible title contenders to probably falling out of the top 6 by the end of the main phase (Europa Point with their team full of Swedish 2nd/3rd tier players are a good bet to overtake them after a slow start to the season, although 4th-7th are only a point apart so all to play for, top 3 have run away with the league).
The current top 3 are a whole different level to the rest of the league, although even then 3rd place FCB Magpies have a way to go before they're competing with Lincoln Red Imps and St Joseph's (the latter now owned by ex-Burnley chairman Mike Garlick and signed ex-Brazil U20 international Lucas Gaúcho in January). Lions Gibraltar were rock bottom of the league but got taken over by Mark Palmer in January (Solihull CEO, was also on the St Joseph's board when Garlick first took over) and have improved since, he'll probably overhaul their squad in summer with a few Solihull loanees not unlikely given the Moors chairman is now on the Lions board too.
Well hopefully he sticks around at Lions and helps them improve the standard a bit. GFL needs owners who will actually commit to the clubs and not spend money they don't have.

Wingy scores for Reading away at Fleetwood.
Nice assist for Anis against Russell Martin's Southampton.
2-0 Bristol City now, looks like the unbeaten run is coming to an end
Tuned in for a minute just to see Mehmeti come off at 3-0 (after a quality game) and hear him called 'Aneece' by the Sky folks.

Another win there and Colchester are going to start feeling hot breath!

Bit tough for AAH that Ipswich signed Kieffer Moore about two days after he joined them.
So happy for him though that he got his first goal tonight, scoring in injury time from the spot.
Many of their fans have been screaming for Ali to start alongside Moore.
Thrilled for him! I’ll take the assist
Mark West is the new Risborough Rangers manger, replacing Mark Eaton who becames Director of Football.
I presume he won't be in the Legends Lounge tomorrow as Rangers are home to Wembley. Hope @bluntphil can find a replacement!
However, I've just read that Mark Eaton will be in the dugout one last time.
But you would think he would want to watch the team and the club would want him there so players give their all in front of the new Gaffer?

Kaikai scores for Cambridge, against bottom side Carlisle.
Amadi-Holloway scored for Chippenham in their 2-2 draw at Slough.

Is this the same Mark Palmer who accompanied the Couhigs on their first few visits to WWFC, inflikted?
No idea, possibly?
Yes it is - https://777score.com/news/football/258979-solihull-moors-ceo-takes-as-chairman-of-lions-gibraltar-fc
Thanks. Very helpful context!
Looks like Palmer has also been involved with Grimsby and Weymouth at least in the last couple of years.

Lyle Taylor sent off. He's certainly having an eventful time at Cambridge.
He’ll probably win Cambridge’s ‘Player of the Season’ award…in a close run off versus Sullay Kaikai
