Met Stephen McGinn tonight prior to Falkirk v Montrose in the Scottish Leagur One. McGinn has been part of a squad that sits 14 points clear at the top & is unbeaten in the league this season in 24 games.
McGinn played 31 times for the Chairboys between 2015 & 2017. He still keeps in touch with Matt Bloomfield & is keen to follow our progress at Bradford tomorrow. McGinn was an unused substitute in Falkirk’s 3-0 victory over Montrose in front of a crowd of 4,196 (including around 40 away fans). A very nice club & extremely hospitable!
My lasting memory of McGinn was that footage of the squad watching the FA Cup draw together, when Spurs were drawn the room erupted, except for Stephen who was out of the team and desperately home sick.
Must be tough as well having a brother who is bossing games in the Premier League.
I would be amazed if he played. Has a total of 63 minutes on the pitch this season in the League and Champions League combined.
He'll now go and score a 95th minute winner and heap all the praise on a guy called Dobbo who taught him all he knows at 11 years old before he left for Reading before his 12th birthday.
Max marks for @Steve_Peart in the spelling contest.
I can still see in my mind’s eye young Max bombing down the left wing in front of the Frank Adams stand in a pre-season friendly against Leicester. I’m surprised he has never made it beyond the National League but perhaps he was content to remain at that level for personal reasons.
Thankfully my phone keyboard predicted it! Max was a talent, I think I remember him scoring a brace at Hartlepool, he seemed destined for higher things. A bit like Mo Harkins.
Nathan Tyson scored an injury time equaliser for relegation-threatened Long Eaton United yesterday at Coalville Town in the Southern League Premier Division Central.

From the replay i'd call it a 'thumping' good time

Good luck to the lad.
Porto Arsenal in the Champions League tonight.
Danny Namaso might play for Porto. He's come a long way from 2012 when he was in the Wycombe youth team.
Even changed his name
Dobbo really did have some extraordinary prospects coming through around the time we had to abandon the academy. Imagine what could have been.

I do miss Dobbo, he'd be great to have back.
Isn't Dobbo playing keyboards for Gaz now? If not...
I'm hearing he's lined up as the Director of the new academy, with Temur Ketsbaia as his head coach.
He's on the bench tonight
Yes, I saw that. Named on the bench as Loader, not Namaso.
According to Wiki his surname is Loader but he wants to be called Namaso.
Aren't you allowed the rest of your squad on the bench in the CL?
I don't watch much CL but I can’t believe they have 11 players on the bench.
Hopefully he gets on.
D’Mani Mellor scores. Is that is first goal ever?
Didn’t he score in the Pizza Cup against Northampton?
Yes
League Cup
Eze scores for palace who lead 1-0 at Spurs.
Brace for Max Kretzcschmar in Wealdstone's 3-2 win at York.
Chelmsford's Dave Winfield one of four players sent off, three for Aveley if I read it correctly, plus their physio. Chelmsford won 2-0.

Winfieldstill playing! How slow must he be now?
Thankfully my phone keyboard predicted it! Max was a talent, I think I remember him scoring a brace at Hartlepool, he seemed destined for higher things. A bit like Mo Harkins.
He turns 36 in three weeks time. Sent off for retaliation. Think it was two Aveley players sent off, plus their physio.
I had a good chat with Mo in Sainsbury’s not too long back. He remembers his time at Wycombe fondly and still keeps an eye out for our results.
I was told Max Kretzchmar caught glandular fever during his time with us.

Not sure about the timing but good luck to the lad.
Tried to copy URL but made a complete hash of it.
He’ll be 42 in a couple of months.
Let’s hope Gmac has similar longevity.
