I should know this but please help. Who was the great midfield player who came on lone with Sam Saunders from Brentford who then went to play in China and took a Chinese name as it was part of his heritage enef up playing internationally for China?
Tools has even felt the need to come out and clarify his comments, all because some goons (not helped by the local press, both in MK and the BFP) took them completely out of context. It's utterly pathetic.
Totally fair to cover this story and be a bit playful with it, but you've got to consider he's just been through an absolutely horrible experience. I'm sure we'd all rather he wasn't at MK, but any reasonable person would just be glad he's got away from that nightmare at Aberdeen. He owes Wycombe nothing.
People are so naive. He’s hardly going to come out and say ‘I tolerated Wycombe for many seasons but always wanted to play for MK at heart’. They are his employer. It’s his job. Good luck to him.
Love Tools but, having been taken to the cleaners by Scottish press re his comments about Rangers strikers, he might have chosen his words more carefully. “Nothing bad to say” which is his quote, isn’t quite as sensitive as “Only good things to say” which he could have stated.
Give the poor bloke a break ffs. People are constantly on the lookout for something to be OUTRAGED by these days, but footballers (or anyone, for that matter) shouldn't have to adapt to that - they're not the ones with the problem.
So am I, as I said first off I love Tools, he is the prodigal son, his display at Wembley vs the PNL was one of the greatest ever, would have him back in a trice.
It would seem I expressed my observations on how he is handling the media in a way that could be misconstrued as a criticism. Not my intention. Six 👎is a personal record, not my greatest hour on the Gasroom.
The media training comment is something that was levelled at him prior to the Rangers game. It was a complete hatchet job. The journalist probably knew he was going to fall for the bait and everyone did a pile on. His response was honest. His response was his personal opinion. We all complain about vanilla interviews with sports personalities but when this is the consequence of an honest q and a then it is hardly a surprise when all we ever get is 'we take one game at a time' blah blah etc.

I assume such rules don't apply across overseas leagues.
It stops someone smashing someone, getting a violent conduct ban, then evading it changing club across the border though!
Didn’t Joey Barton get a long ban in England and then go and play in France without serving it?
They often do, in fact. Ronaldo took a two game ban with him when he made his his recent money move to Saudi Arabia.
Seems logical to me. A ban is a ban, as it were.
Yep, good point with that one.
Although that was for slapping a phone out of someone's hand rather than on field.
Which Dons?
Was this rule brought in after "Big Dunc" Ferguson tried to avoid a lengthy ban by coming south?

Li Ke (Nico Yennaris)
He’s been back here in London for nearly two years trying to get an injury fixed and not played I think since 2021.
He was a good player
Apparently he is a Twitch streamer now: Neeks23 - Twitch
He's been rehabbing with Arsenal U21s since last summer. Assume he'll go back to China when he's fully fit.
Adam Przybek joins Stevenage

Jesus wept, it’s perfectly obvious what he’s trying to say, he really shouldn’t need to clarify it should he.
Totally agree, utterly, utterly pathetic.
You say that, but I ran it past an elderly relative who knows nothing about football. Their reaction?
"Was he in the wrong colours before"
It’s a terrible headline, the MK journalist has done him no favours at all.
The BFP ran pretty much the same headline
Clicks are important, but there are times when sensitivity to the situation should take precedence.
The opening sentence of that piece does Tools no favours either, especially the use of 'revealed'. https://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/highwycombe/23305462.ex-wycombe-wanderers-hero-anthony-stewart-mk-move/

On a more positive note, it's nice to see him being backed up by Grimmer and GMac.

Media training required, or don’t take the bait.

You're outraged by the outrage in fairness :)
I'm just really saddened by the treatment one of the best and most popular players of the Ainsworth era is getting

Another reason why he is better out of Aberdeen.
This MK comment was a bit more of a stitch up the way it was written I think.
"So the fans have seen you play against them before, how will it feel this time"
"Well, from the MK fans point of view I'll be in the right colours this time".
But the other one was something you wouldn't a pro to walk into.
So you're playing Team A, it looks like player 1 is playing, instead of player 2, who do you prefer to play against?
"Both offer strong challenges, full of respect for either" blah blah was the easy out. No drama possible to make of it.
Pretty much the only players at our level with any media training will be those who've played in the PL or for a top Champ club
Honestly, if that's the quote that's been turned into a clickbait headline, it's not Tools that needs more media training.
