Just had a look through Twitter and he actually works as Head of Academy Player Care for Peterborough, so presuming he’s dropped to that level so he can work in that role but still play a little bit.
This really upsets me. He’s just about the nicest guy I’ve ever met and when he left us it was based on our financial situation, not his ability.
When we played Northampton earlier this season I spoke to my mate there and asked what had happened to him. He had no explanation other than he fell away from the team without reason and then disappeared altogether. He was well thought of but the team didn’t miss him.
@Croider, He played 75 times for them across two seasons, it was only last season he ‘disappeared’ and wasn’t playing.
Totally agree @BlueBoy. I remember the 500 club dinner, a few years ago now, when Michael and his delightful wife were on our table. You and your dad were able to engage in animated conversation with them but, being a deaf old sod (even then) I was unable to join in. To be fair, your dad said afterwards that I should have said I was having difficulty.
But what a lovely couple. I met Mrs Harriman when she was dispensing something from the boot of her car in the main car park on one occasion (some time before the 500 Club dinner) and, not realising at the time who she was, I said something stupid like “you remind me of Michael Harriman’s wife”. Awkward. But we had a good laugh.
Nice guy for sure. I remember little things like he gave me a nod as I walked past him on the way to Doncaster away, and then he sat a few seats away at the same game.
He may well have been kept on like you say for us, but I think he had largely lost his starting position by then.
But at least it sounds like he's made the decision to have a job that allows a decent level of football, rather than that being the best club he could find. That would be upsetting.
AFC Bedford have re-branded as Real Bedford (think Real Madrid, not Real IRA). Their crypto thing was / is slightly more interesting than most, but it started when Bitcoin was very high and it's been tanking since so I don't think they have a lot of cash any more. I moved to Bedford last year so I might pop along and see Harriman play if we have a game off when they don't.
I remember getting abuse from a certain member of this forum for the saying the same a few years back... He can't pass!! Drifting long balls isn't passing, footballers at Sunday league level can do that.
Passing certainly wasn't his strong point, nor was his left foot, the ball could literally go anywhere when he swung that boot. Great pace, great athlete, and one of the best at the recovery tackle. But always felt, he was at his best when he was alongside a dominant talker and organiser to partner him. Never saw him as captain material, simply as his positioning was often suspect.
I was surprised Aberdeen made him captain as I thought he was to quiet for us. I think he was at his best when he played with El-Abd. Stewart's pace made up for El-Abd's limited immobility, while the latter's organisational sense and leadership made them a great partnership.
He did put it on a sixpence for Kashket for his winner at Rotherham in 2019, but that ball only very occasionally came off (his assist for Paul Smyth's goal v Bolton on the opening day of that season wasn't dissimilar).
I never saw his Crawley side play personally, so I couldn’t comment as to whether this is true or not, but a quote from the CTFC forum:
“ He was a decent guy but the move from Arsenal U21 to League 2 wasn't right for him and he found that playing Barcelona football with Billericay players didn't work.”

Paul Smyth has scored for Leyton Orient at Doncaster.
Dan Scarr sent off for Plymouth.
For standing in front of the keeper like a dickhead?
Accy player sent off at the same time, and another Accy player booked on 39, so sounds like an interesting incident.
Sounds like a job for @ReturnToSenda to unravel
Alex Pattison has pulled a goal back for Harrogate at Colchester, 2-1.

Just seen Paul Smyth's goal for Leyton Orient today, so good it's even made it onto the main page of the sky sports app
A real shame we never really saw the best of Paul Smyth, if he hadn't suffered that injury...

Indeed, both were excellent company that evening. Michael’s standing went up even further when watching the Luton game.
His wife was/is lovely. I’m sure she thought you were joking (even if you weren’t)!

Anthony Stewart getting pelters at Aberdeen.
They're not wrong about his passing

Love the notion of limited immobility. My own immobility is virtually unlimited.
Unfortunately.
You're still on the ball though! However you did miss my error in using "to" instead of "too".
He had one pass 'in his locker'. From his own half. Lofted cross field. Invariably ineffective. Very frustrating.

At least our centre backs are allowed to pass these days .
There was a very definite period a few years where it looked like the rule was one touch vaguely control it, then big boot.
