    FT PGT 2-4 WW.

Bobby Lynch added a third on 61' with a free kick from some 40 yards towards the touchline, bounced once and over the keepers' head. Penn pulled two back, player took a 71' pen, hit crossbar and shot home from the rebound after a Wycombe player touched it. Second was a shot from a loose ball 10 yards out three minutes later.

Jess Watkins restored a two goal lead on 79', she met ball at the same time as the keeper, and the ball rolled in.

One more yellow for Wycombe for a bad challenge. A hard game against a spirited Penn, always a potential banana skin on a pitch which increasesly cut up. A very vocal and partisan home crowd! About 60 here again. The Penn no. 2, Megan Brockwell, was impressive wide right, constantly up and down and very tough.

Edit - special mention for Molly Scott in goal, only 16 and dealt with everything.

  • Goals from Penn.

In the League Cup QF, the Firsts will play either Abingdon United Devs or AFC Portchester, who play next week. My mistake for thinking United had a bye. Portchester won their league cup tie today, 13-0 at home to Wimborne Town.

The Firsts' league game at home to Reading will now be played on Tuesday 18 March at 19:30, at Adams Park.

  • I did Jess Watkins a disservice for her goal, she got to the ball before the keeper, really well taken.

  • Coming up this weekend.

    Saturday

    U18s v Andover New Street - JPL League, 10:30am, 1878 Stadium, Wymers Wood Road, Burnham SL1 8JG

    Sunday

    U23s v Milton United - Southern Regional D1N, 2pm, 1878 Stadium, Wymers Wood Road, Burnham SL1 8JG

In November, the U18s won 3-2 at Andover, who sit three points below the Chairgirls, with three wins and thee defeats.

The U23s have won six of last seven games, and face a Milton side they defeated 2-0 in the reverse fixture two months ago.

The Firsts have no game, they were due to travel to AFC Portchester, who are now playing Abingdon United Devs away in the league cup, to decide who plays the Chairgirls in the next round.

  • FT U18s 2-1 Andover New Street.

That moves the Chairgirls up to third, level with Oxford United on 15 points. Both are 15 points behind leaders Ascot United, who have won all ten games.

  • FT U23s 7-1 Milton United.

Goals from Shannon Read (4), Molly Carter, Ammara Qureshi and Giulia Livi.

  • In the League Cup, the Firsts will travel to Portchester, who beat Abingdon United Devs 4-0 today in their tie. That match will take place on 23rd February.

  • In the Premier, Ascot's game at Badshot was postponed. Oxford City beat Woodley 7-1 at home, to go into second place, two points above the Firsts. Sholing beat Selsey 2-1, and Reading lost 8-0 at the Flyers.

In Division One North, leaders Beaconsfield won 7-0 at Slough. Penn's game at home to Kidlington was postponed, and have only payed eight league games so far, compared to the Chairgirls' 17.

  • @peterparrotface, the fixture date has changed (I posted on 2 Feb).

"The Firsts' league game at home to Reading will now be played on Tuesday 18 March at 19:30, at Adams Park."

No further news on the promotion for that.

  • Ah sorry missed that - hopefully a warmer night for it anyway.

  • Perhaps the need to look after the pitch is a factor in the move, in this wet winter. It does not seem to be playing as well as last year, when Darren Ferguson said it was the best surface in the division. I think that has affected our play. At least it's having a good long break from games at the moment. I seem to remember we started off with two lighting rigs, I wonder if the club have invested in any more.

  • Scheduled matches for the three teams.

    Firsts

    U23s

    U18s

  • A reminder that any girls playing, this season, in the U14s, U15s, U16s or U17s age groups, are welcome to attend a free Talent ID training session at Burnham, on Tuesday 28th February, 5pm-7pm.

  • This weekend's matches.

    Saturday

    U18s v Oxford United - JPL Warriors League, 10.30am, 1878 Stadium, Wymers Wood Road, Burnham SL1 8JG.

    Sunday

Badshot Lea v Firsts - Southern Regional Premier, 2pm, Operatix Community Ground, Westfield Lane, Wrecclesham, Farnham GU10 4PF.

Chesham United Devs v U23s - Southern Region D1N, 2pm, Chiltern Hills Academy, Chartridge Road, Chesham HP5 2RG.

The U18s and the U's are third and second respectively, 15 points behind leaders Ascot. In September, United beat the Chairgirls 5-2 in the JPL Cup.

The Firsts travel to bottom club Badshot, who have two points so far and lost 5-0 at Burnham in October. The Baggies have had home games scheduled on the previous three Sundays, all postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. Fingers crossed it goes ahead, I can't see any game scheduled on the pitch tomorrow. £3 for adults, £1 concs and U18s free.

The U23s travel to a Chesham side, second from bottom but who had a surprise 3-2 win in the reverse fixture in October.

  • FT U18s 3-2 Oxford United

  • Coming up this weekend.

    Sunday

AFC Portchester v Firsts - Southern Regional League Cup QF, 2pm,The OnSite Group Stadium, Wicor Recreation Ground, Cranleigh Rd, Portchester PO16 9DP.

Portchy surprised the Firsts on the opening day of the season, with a 3-0 win at Burnham. In the League Cup, they have beaten Wimborne Town at home, 13-0, and Abingdon United Devs away, 4-0. Last week they lost 3-1 at home to tier 4 Moneyfields in the county Cup. The Firsts will be going back to Portchester the following Sunday, in the league.

The U18s game at Wimborne Town tomorrow has been "rained out", as the JPL site puts it.

    The U23s have no fixture.
