Chairgirls have had the better of the half, should have scored more, but a few moments of sloppiness at the back could easily have given Comets a second. Keeper Amber Taylor has dealt well with the shots. 25 minutes in, Comets swapped an outfield player for the keeper. New one is shorter but has not really been tested enough. Comets are finding that tier 5 football is more physical. They are finding the forward line of Kassem, Potter and Watkins a handful. Good crowd here, maybe 150.
I recently donated the equivalent of a Chairgirls season ticket, as I didnt want to deny someone a chance to go and I would find it almost impossible to get to Burnham; felt it was the least I could do...
Sorry, just back but I didn't press post message. So Comets won 3-1 on penalties.
The Chairgirls gave their all today but it wasn't quite enough, it was one of those days at both ends. Comets kept themselves in the game and handled the pressure of penalties better. Congratulations to them and good luck in the next round.
Very frustrating @micra, the Chairgirls should have won by three goals. There is so much to admire about the team, a lot of potential, they were relentless in pushing forward after the break, they are very fit, but just need to finish off teams. Rather than playing about at the back, and a lot of passes went back to the keeper when a forward one was on, at times I just wanted them to launch long to the front three, who have pace, power and skill, and were a constant menace. But what do I know?
Yes, that last minute equaliser has cost the club a lot financially but amateur players at this level don't need that financial pressure on them. I sometimes wonder if the FA should just divide up the early round prize money equally amongst all clubs below a certain level, as a grant.
On a positive note, the attendance of 183 is almost certainly an all time record for a Chairgirls game. A young football team of girls in the stand, I didn't catch their club, gave constant encouragement throughout the game. Although it was a good crowd, and a minimum 200 is about what we should be getting, there were only about 50 there for the top match with Ascot a few weeks ago, and 20 of those were away fans. I just wish they were playing in the environs of High Wycombe, so that more people would attend. I hope that is the aim and a top priority for the Trust. The 1878 Stadium is an excellent facility, it's just too far away from the club's core support to attend matches regularly. For me it's a 2.5 hour round trip.
I see that Holmer Green's new 3G Pitch will be operational in January, 90% funded by grants. I think it is where the training pitch is, not the main pitch, so I don't know if it would meet ground grading requirements for the Southern Regional League. Is there any way the Marlow Road training ground could be upgraded for public Chairgirls matches? What exactly are the plans for the place? What do Mikheil and Dan think about the club's women's teams?
Goals from Tegan Condra, Ammara Qureshi, Shannon Read, Daisy-Leigh Thompson and Emma Vaughan.
In the FA Cup, Ascot United, AFC Portchester, Winchester City Flyers and Reading are all through to the First Round, as well as Penn & Tylers Green from D1N. Ascot thrashed Woodley United (again), 8-2.
In an unexpected and unprecedented turn of events of I had the privilege of watching the Wycombe Wanderers Women Development side play for a second weekend in succession.
This time they faced Caversham United on the Mapledurham Playing Fields in the leafy suburban environs of Caversham Heights.
It was clear from the start that the Chairgirls were simply too good for their hosts and took an early lead through AmmaraQureshi’s neat lobbed finish at the far post.
Shannon Read was a goal threat throughout and added a second before half-time.
Daisy-leigh Thompson and Emma Vaughan bagged two quick-fire goals early in the second half to settle the contest.
The home side nicked a consolation before POTM TeganCondra scored the goal of the game with a strike from 25 yards to make it Caversham United 1 Wycombe Wanderers 5.
The playing surface was something to behold, almost 50% grass and 50% sand. Even my ankles winced when I saw it. Fortunately there were no injuries and the players dealt with the pitch admirably.
Moment of the game came early on when TeganCondra conjured up a sublime piece of skill, flicking the ball with the back of her heel to find a team-mate. Joyful.
Emma Vaughan was impressive in the middle of the park, reminded me a little of Josh Scowen, and really showed her leadership skills.
A new thread that been set up to donate some money to contribute to sponsor Scotty Kashkets Away shirt at Hornchurch Fc. A little show of our support and appreciation for some great times while he was a blue. @Chris has kindly set this up and has set up a page to send donations.
The cost is £85 for the remainder of the season. There seems to be much interest so we are hoping to make a fair bit over the £85 needed.
As suggested by @eric_plant ... it has been decided that everything made over £85 will be gifted to the Women's team.
Newport Pagnell Town v Firsts - Berks & Bucks Senior Cup 1R, 2pm, Willen Road, Newport Pagnell MK16 0DF.
U23s v Abingdon United Development - Southern Region D1N, 2pm, Amersham & Wycombe College, Spring Lane, Flackwell Heath HP10 9HE.
Tomorrow, the U18s were due to be away to Cumnor Minors U17 in the Berks & Bucks U18s Cup, but the Oxon side have scratched. Quite why Cumnor, on the other side of Oxford, are in the B & B is another of those county membership mysteries.
The U23s host Abingdon Devs at Flackwell Heath, because Burnham are at home to Eastbourne United in the FA Vase that day. The Yellows have won three and lost three this season, the last two matches were one goal defeats to Penn & Tylers Green and Slough Town. Last season it was one win each in their meetings.
After last week's heartache, the Firsts are back in cup action and face a Newport Pagnell side on a high after reaching the FA Cup First Round for the first time. They won 4-3 with the last kick of the game at Dussindale & Hellesdon, one tier above them, their third FA Cup win of the season, and they travel to fifth tier Royston Town in the next round. The Swans play in the East Midlands Regional Division One South, tier 6, and have drawn two and lost one of their three games so far, with one point deducted.
For the second consecutive week, the Chairgirls gave up a 3-1 lead, to lose a cup game to lower ranked opponents, this time in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup.
The Swans scored an early goal, before Kayla Potter and Amy Leach gave Wanderers a 2-1 half-time lead. Potter extended that with her second goal, before Newport Pagnell scored three, including a penalty, to seal a remarkable comeback win.

45+1 2-1, Watkins on the break from a Kassem pass, cuts in from the left and shoots home.
HT WW 2-1 Comets.

At HT Comets have changed their keeper again, this one is tall. Official attendance is 183.

Thnaks for the match updates @Steve_Peart - #COYB
76', 3-1, Ashleigh Harte with a 20 yarder, helped into the net by the keeper.
79', 3-2, another defensive pass went astray and shot goes into far corner.
Both teams have wasted several really good chances this half, keeper Amber has just kept them in it with a point blank save.
45+3, 3-3, looping shot outside the area, totally against run of play.
FT 3-3, penalties now. This is disappointing, Chairgirls should be out of sight with their second half domination and chances.
Comets to take the first pen.
Missed.
Kassem hits the post. 0-0.
Comets 1-0.
Keeper saves from Potter.
Comets 2-0
2-1
Comets 3-1
Nor was I.

That’s very disappointing, particularly in the context of the fund raising potential to which you referred this morning.
You and scores of others who attend these matches must feel very frustrated.
Real shame, but this hopefully will make them stronger & more resolute.
I wish them every success for the rest of the league campaign.
