To be fair though, its his first 3 games ever in charge of a first team (same for Vokes). If he learns and gets better from here, its a very solid starting platform.
Sam Grace's strength is player development and we should get him back to doing that asap, just look at the players he has brought through so far at Wycombe.
He has done really well at the job the club asked him to do in recent weeks, but you can see he is doing it from a sense of duty & love for the club & the players rather than because it is his burning ambition to be a head coach.
He will always be remembered for steadying the club at a very rocky time and for that we should be eternally grateful.
AFAIK the new manager situation is currently like this
The Randers duo were our first choice, theyโve turned us down. Des Buckingham might have been interviewed in the week before the Mansfield game. We might have made an approach to the FA to speak to Ashley Cole, or someone else
Thereโs nothing to suggest weโve spoken to Schumacher, Richardson or Holden. Lee Johnson has confirmed he hasnโt been offered the job.
2 poor choices in my view....don't think board will be going down this route (hopefully) let's see if Schumacher goes to Bolton, if not hopefully have a chance of getting him?
That's no different to the other day. Lee Johnson confirmed himself that he hasn't had any contact from the club, and suspects that the odds are just reflective of the fact he was at the Mansfield game (but was also at 3 other games that same weekend).
Whoever we get as our new manager, I hope we can find a place for Sam Vokes in our coaching setup. I think keeping Sam around would be a great move to provide us with a succession plan etc.
Vokesy would be a brilliant fit for us with more coaching experience under his belt, especially when you take into account his extensive playing career and his knowledge of our club culture.
Half serious question - could the mystery person at the FA be Sarina Weigman, her FA salary would seem to be around the ยฃ1m mark. SI believe she has a contract until the 2027 World Cup - I don't know whether she would see it as selling out or trailblazing to set us on the way - perhaps she has always wanted to win the FA Cup.

Is the club website down for anyone else this morning? New manager content clogging up the servers...?
Yeah down for me as well
Looks like Fireman Sam has decided to change careers
It must be the welcoming video that's causing it as that video must be a massive file!

Interesting

Have I missed anything?
Lee Johnson now odds on and Ian Evatt 5/2.

Hopefully an announcement today and the players can return to training tomorrow with a new boss
I'm expecting an announcement this week that SG is staying in charge for the forseeable future.
Also that Sir Martin is joining his backroom staff (Ok maybe that's a step too far...)
I know that's a joke, but how insulting would it be to MON to suggest that!
Steven Gerrard is about to become available ๐.
Ha! Came here to say exactly the same thing.
Dear God not Holden please. Some really rough names in the mix. Only Schumacher or Buckingham for me โฆ failing that some up and coming Scandi
Surely Stevie G will want a big team.
What have you got against Holden mate?
Does that mean Micky/Michael Beale will also be available?
Isn't Buckingham a bit of a tippy tappy merchant, or am I wrong? Wouldn't we want someone who already fits our style?
Reports that Schumacher to Bolton is a done deal and will be announced tomorrow.
Yes but no big team will want him.
As opposed to the massive wanderers?
Would take Beale
Ian or Michael..I think I'd prefer Ian!

Hasn't he got a bit of a reputation for walking away for a better offer pretty sharpish though ? Sure he did that to QPR and Sunderland
