Is that unusual for the 2nd division?
So do we want a lesser club and a chance of romping through another round, or do we want the "big" draw now?
Always a good debate.
Brentford the first PL casualty
A lesser club and get through to the next round.
My opinion is another winnable tie gets our second string minutes and our first team a rest from their storming of the L1 title.
I suppose I should not be surprised in the BBC interest given the teams, but the idea Salford might upset Man City is a bit far-fetched, isn't it?
Plymouth's first away win of the season. Some way to do it.
5,000 in the away end for Salford. I'm sure absolutely none of them are Man Utd fans.
It's their cup final
(not Salford, the BBC's)
At least it won't be Sunderland away.
Whatever they've done in the past, it's clearly one of the stand out ties of the round and the right decision
City deserve to lose for the font on their shirts alone
But then Salford deserve to lose for having Ryan Giggs involved
I thought it was high but clearly not.
Going back to our illustrious 2000/2001 FA Cup season we have had the following number of teams knocked out at Rd 3 from the Championship.
10 - Twice
11 - Twice
12 - Four
13 - Five
14 - Nine
15 - Once
18! - Once
It would seem 12-14 is the average. Looking at the games to play it will probably be 14 this season.
It's a disgrace they employ Giggs.
Haven't they read his poetry?
It's utterly farcical to bother making the Liverpool and City games main tv games isn't it.
Absolute walkovers even with the prem teams playing their kitman and his sons.
Nobody heard him, the dead man,
But still he lay moaning:
I was much further out than you thought
And not waving but rubbing my totem pole.
(S. Smith/Giggsy remix)
Yet I've watched both games 🤐
But tbh, which more attractive fixture wasn't selected?
OURS
No, they were obviously the correct choices
Us v Portsmouth 😋
Well, yes we'd expect that of you! And probably 12 other ties this round?
I was at our game, so 3 so far...
See, it must have been a big game for you to be there 😉
I do understand Arsenal fans' frustrations sometimes.
Man City get Salford at home.
Liverpool get Accrington at home.
Chelsea get Morecambe at home.
Spurs get Tamworth away.
Arsenal and Man United get each other!
Which makes me hard as a totem pole
A rare drubbing that looks like it actually will get to 10...
Lovely for the Salford lads and fans. But an absolute washout for a tv game.
Even Grealish scored for goodness sake.
