Would feel a smart use of the funds. Assuming Bolton aren't asking utterly ludicrous amounts, i.e. 750k upwards. Though we'd have to be smart, otherwise Bolton will just say you've got xx coming in, we'll have that or more.
A 24 year old who plays an absolutely critical role in our style has to be a wise move.
Lets hope we don't get an Odemwingie situation where Morley just rocks up at the training ground for a medical when the clubs haven't reached any sort of agreement!
Surely we are all missing the fact that our evil overlords statistical methods did not get Morley in and as they are in control of all signings above Matt's head (until they get shot of him) perhaps they don't want him whatever he may or may not cost.
"Molde and Wycombe Wanderers have come to an agreement on a transfer for Anders Hagelskjær. The Dane is already in place in England to complete the transfer to the club which is fighting for promotion to the Championship. As @F_Abolhosseini reports, the transfer fee is over 500,000 euros, which corresponds to around 6 million Norwegian kroner."
interesting news....don't know much about it ...maybe would have been Prudent to get someone like Lloyd Jones or Exeter CB...must mean that Low on his way out
Think this means it's pretty obvious Joe is on his way, 2 new center backs. If we don't think we can get Taylor back then I'd still be looking to go for the Exeter lad on loan if we can
I may be naive in my thinking but MB saying he's not involved in player recruitment negotiations doesn't necessarily mean he hasn't been involved in the process of identifying potential targets.
I'd much rather our head coach focus on the players we have - tactics, line-ups, opposition analysis, training etc. - and leave contract negotiations to others.
In which case, this only just pips our previous record transfer if adjusted for inflation. Darren Currie signed in July 2001 for £200k - that's £367k in today's money. Sean Devine signing for £200k in Dec 2003 is £358k in today's money.
Great statement of intent if we bring in a player of this (apparent) caliber. It is only January 8th, too!
If this means Joe Low is on his way out, he deserves our warmest thanks and well wishes. Not just for being such a brilliant defender, but he always comes across so well as a person - unsurprising for a Wycombe player, I know, but yet another we can be so proud to have seen in the quarters, and deserves a shot at the big time.
As for Kone, one area we perhaps do not compliment him enough in is how hard working he clearly is on the training ground and in the gym. We know he bulked up over the summer, but he also seems to have a laser focus when it comes to working on any weaknesses. I am not sure if anyone remembers, but there was a game early on this season where there was a bit of a consensus that Udoh had won the 9 shirt, and Kone was likely the #2 option. That now seems like three years ago, even though Udoh has been fantastic too!
For any talk about reinvestment of Low money. I've heard the problem with signing Morley isn't because we don't have the cash, it's that the data bods don't want us to spend it on him.
I don't run a football club, but it is remarkable that someone with cash to spend, who has been vocal about getting us promoted, won't buy the player that most average fans see could be the difference in making it happen, because of numbers in Excel.
Then again, that was the rumour about why Fred didn't originally sign.... then after a few injuries, the arms were twisted. Who knows?

Assuming again he's not on huge money at Bolton.
It’s a good thing I’m not making these decisions because I’d currently be driving to Bolton with a truck full of cash.
Like Harry Redknapp
Do what Arry did for Benjani and book Morley a plane that he simply has to get on

As our training ground is level with Heathrow boundary, lets just hope he doesn't get lost coming out of the airport!
500k+ Euro fee agreed for Anders Hagelskjær (centre back) according to Norwegian journalist Jens Moe on twitter.

Our first six million player? 😊

What's our previous transfer record fee?
Apparently £200k. The record is shared between Darren Currie & Sean Devine.
500k euros = around £417,000 at the moment apparently

I'm glad someone is economically sound enough to bring it in line with today's money!
I thought today's money was all crypto?
£220,000 for Sean Devine
King Kone, meet King Krone
Holy hell! Let’s hope this guy is as great as the price tag. It’s going to be a strange few weeks.
Sean Devine was bought permanently in May 1999. He was sold in December 2003. BWK!
Nice work. I dare say, though, that football inflation has outstripped general inflation somewhat over that period.
Depends how much we paid for Nathan Tyson.
Whoopsie! Then that transfer is worth £412k in today's money, still makes King Krone the record transfer but only just.

A rumour from a reliable source?
