just surprised it’s taken him so long to start to dominate , maybe city don’t treat him very well at first . I did hear early on he had regretted his move .
People here got frustrated with him, can see why it takes a while, he's one of those players you need to leave alone in full knowledge not everything will come off and someone may need to clean up after him, but keep giving the ball and let him be comfortable and the sky is the limit.
I think what your fellow gasroomer was suggesting is that Bristol City met the clause in Mehmeti's contract to enable negotiations with the player. You can't then add in another fee or a clause.
If Mehmeti's sell on clause was £1m, and Bristol City paid us £1m....that's it.
OK. As long as that was stipulated in the contract. What I'm saying is, you can't add it in later on. I've not seen Mehmeti's contact so will take your/the club's word on that.
Missed today’s game as a was at Elland Road with a mate. Highlight of the match was these fantastic Pieminister pies, designed for eating one handed at a football match.
That’s the post I’ve been referring to. The mention of city suggests it may be Hartridge and ‘don’t’ should read ‘didn’t’. Bakinson also made sense but he was at Wednesday, not city.
I’m assuming this is talking about Mehmeti and his move to Bristol City. He regretted moving there at first but is now enjoying his life there, and scoring goals for them
For some stupid reason it was bugging me. One of the problems with doing everything on an iPhone is that links with posts copied down within a subsequent post don’t work.
I've only watched the first episosde of the Sir Alex BBC docco, but the skill in removing any image or mention of Roy Keane has to be admired if not commended.
It reminded me of a docco I saw about the making of Band On The Run full of Macca interviews which managed to completely edit out almost every mention or image of Denny Laine, which given that McCartney, him and Linda were the only people on it was a triumph of rewritten history.
Wigan striker Josh Stones is having a medical at York City after they agreed a fee in region of £350,000 in one of the biggest ever deals into the National League.
Incredible (though I have not seen it). I think Roy Keane has an argument to be the greatest United player in that heyday (hard to judge across positions) and for me the greatest captain I have seen of any team, domestic or international, since I have been watching football (since the 80s).
I saw a video on how he has become retroactively underrated, with young'uns howling with laughter when Rio said he would start a "Best Of United" team with Keane, and others saying Declan Rice is better, or Rodri can do everything Keane did. Absolute facepalm.
I feel for anyone who does not actually realize how brilliant of a player he was. Basically a perfect midfielder combined with insane levels of leadership qualities.
Oh dear @Shev I know it was a different era and things evolve, but a frightening, tireless leader, who can break up play, bring attackers into the game and kick someone (opponent or team-mate) up the backside when required is still useful.
I bet no Arsenal fan would say Rice is better than Viera in midfield.

Suppose as long as something is in a contract anything goes? Hope he gets a proper monster move soon then!

Peterborough losing to Burton, they really are in a right old relegation scrap
Who is the player being discussed that apparently said initially that he regretted coming here?
Looks like Swansea really could do with a new defender.

You can - you can set the clause at 1m PLUS whatever add-ons you like. It was confirmed at the time that there were potential add-ons.

Have to be careful not to clap.
Or when having a wank
Pastry looks a little cardboardy though.
So who allegedly regretted (initially) coming to Adams Park?
That's exactly what I was meaning - but you probably worded it a lot clearer.
It'd be crazy if you just then added a bunch of stuff in later.
Assume this was a discussion on the Wycombe tv coverage of today's game? Rather than someone teasing it on here?
Might be better to re-ask your question on the match thread if the former? Or if the latter, copy them in :-)

Who cares !!

At last! Many thanks @manchesterchairboy.

If you get a chance to see it, watch the highlights of Notts County / Walsall. The goal line clearance at 0-0 is one of the best you will ever see.

Quick reminder: Declan Rice is not a defensive midfielder
I liked the Roy Keane comment when a colleague asked him how he thought the Man Utd team of his time would get on against the current Man Utd side?
Roy replied that they would beat the current ream 1-0.
The question came back, only 1-0?
Then Roy said, well we are all around 50 years old.
Team not ream.
You have a lot of people to correct! Though to be fair, Rice can play as more of an 8 when required.
