A hard fought win against decent opposition just as good as an easy win against someone lower, very good points. Squad will have to stand up over the next few weeks and beyond as we wait to see what Santa might bring or take away.
Never seen a club put it on so thick for a player. Giving him the last min pen, Matt Cecil giving him a big thanks at the end. Justified, but how much are we begging Morley to kick up a fuss back at Bolton?!
He propelled us to top of the table with a last minute winner and an exceptional loan deal throughout. It was handled very professionally. Well done all involved
What a curious post. Morley took the initiative and had the bravery to take the pen. The club didn't give him it for giggles like it was some testimonial.
And is it less "putting it on thick" getting the crowd to thank him for his play here, then being a classy gesture?
Although I did joke saying what a buzzkill, loving a 2-1 win then having to face the "he's off" over the mic.
Dull first half, probably deserved our narrow lead, then shocker - late leveller. Top of the league chance, capitalising on Wrexham and Birmingham out the window - slight worries thinking about are we going stale - especially at home.
Then that magical finish - top of the league and all is great again.
I seem to remember Steven Taylor did a (well received) lap of honour having played about four games for us. By that standard, Morley should be seated atop a giant chair arch and paraded down Marlow Hill.
Just listened to Bloomfield’s post match on 3CR - left the door open for Morley coming back (he made a point of saying if this is goodbye), but it also sounded like the chances are that the gap between our’s and Bolton’s valuation is too large and we’ll therefore need to manage without him for the rest of the season.
Potentially an opportunity for Leahy, Bakinson and Butcher to get more consistent minutes.
Interesting stuff. I also think that how Taylor, Morley and Humphreys have done for us so far this season is the same as putting up a giant neon 'Develop Your Players Effectively Here' sign over AP. Any bigger club looking for a second half loan for a decent player would surely consider us.

And Shrewsbury got an away point. Great start to the year.
Late equalizer at a difficult venue. Well done GA!

That was a hard watch for me with freeze frame every 20 seconds. Is that my broadband or something else?
But well worth all the hassle in the end.
The WTV feed quality was low grade today but it didn’t cut out for me @micra
The Sky one want great either. Didn’t drop, but in and out of “fuzziness” all game
im doing a lot of phews this season.
How did you predict that for the first goal

No harm in making it clear he'd be very welcome here if he ever became available.

If we can’t thrash out a deal, let’s look at it this way - he’s gone back to Bolton on loan for 18 months.
But seriously, I would be very surprised if we don’t agree something between now and the window slamming shut.
They've got lots of teams directly below us in Jan. Great time for them to start getting some results
No Leahy on the pitch and Kone missed his last one. So he was probably always on to take the next pen
Top work on the tannoy music at the end. Please don’t go.
Apart from the result a pretty forgettable game. Well done to Fred for staying on the pitch for 87 minutes.
I had a dream last night that they would play that song!

That finish is why we all go season after season.

What song was it?
Possibly this one.

Surely Chicago - 'If You Leave Me Now'

Don’t think that one includes the words “please don’t go” but a lovely song.

“You’ll take away the biggest part of me” which is slightly ambiguous.
It does!
I think we have moved up a level thanks to the signings of Morley, Humphreys, Taylor and Fred.
Morley was a class above those 3 alternatives you named and I feel we need an equivalent replacement if we are to maintain our push for promotion.
Sorry. I should have carried on singing it.
Totally agree.
