Morley has just reposted the Wycombe 2024 highlights with our blue / green love hearts for home and away kit. And he’s also posted a video of himself at Windsor Castle. Think that means he plays tomorrow.
I’d be happy with all those shev but like you I don’t think Evatt’s going anywhere, like him or not. I’m still hoping that your owners will come up with a deal on Aaron for the lads sake but due to EFL financial restrictions that’s perhaps not as easy as some of us may think so it’s more likely he’ll be back with us for 2025. Good luck anyway, tough game for Wrexham at a revitalised Barnsley tomorrow so chance for you to make ground again and if necessary for Aaron to sign off in style. 👍
Last minute winner. Top of the league. Points to the badge. Looks close to tears as the players shove him to the fans adulation. Aaron Morley. Thank you very much Bolton arrogance
We'll sign him. It's an absolute no-brainer. I get not wanting to give the impression that we can be bullied into paying whatever amount, but we'll bite eventually.
I get that to our owner the fee required to secure Aaron Morley is mere loose change, but how do the financial fair play rules limit what we can pay on our average gate receipts?
As soon as we overachieved with Morley playing so well, he was going to go back to Bolton. He is Bolton's player, they need him, they have done nothing wrong. He was always the most likely loanee to go back.
Thank you for everything, Aaron! Good luck with Bolton, unless it is at our expense!
We can pay any fee we want for Morley, that is not restricted, wages would be though and that might be an issue.
I suspect we will just hang on for the end of Jan when the price will come down a bit or they will relent to us loaning him again, remembering he can't play for anyone else.
If we're not signing him because we deem him unaffordable, I assume his replacement will be another loanee. Or do we drop Humphreys into that DLP role? He's certainly more than capable.
Aaron won’t do that, not that kind of guy and to be honest Evatt doesn’t want him anyway although I’m sure he’s clutching at straws again after another utterly woeful performance again today. I genuinely hope your board do everything they can to sign him because he obviously wants to stay and that’s a big thing. Coming back here would be a mistake we’re going backwards so quickly and it would only drag Aaron down with us. Good luck for the rest of the season it’s nice to see one set of Wanderers doing well.
I feared this happening. No way is this the end of the matter. It’s just we’ve entered the game playing which will run until the end of the month and likely to disrupt our season.
It was very kind of Evatt to let Morley go and taste life at a contender under a decent manager in the first place, to flip the script. Let's focus on that act of charity.
it would be terrible if Morley were to go straight into Bolton's squad and score a hotly disputed winner in their next game, which is against...Exeter.
He’ll be able to offer a few insights into Exeter’s approach but whether he gets to play against them for the second time in a week remains to be seen.

He’s allowed to play tomorrow, regardless. I guess Saturday will be the tell tail or a big applaud from him to the crowd.
Don’t forget that we have till the end of January to sign new players.
Good point.

They’re not alone in that respect. But you’d expect his own club to get it right.

Seems like thank you and goodbye for now, really hope something can be sorted. Get firing balls into the car park in Bolton training.

There seemed little scope for a different interpretation of the recall of Aaron Morley to Bolton, as announced at the final whistle.
Good luck Aaron and thanks for everything
It is for us, it isn't as easy for them, they need an upturn probably more urgently than the money we're prepared to pay
Now I'm openly weeping
I feel like I've just broken up with a girlfriend

Try to get Vokes off the books maybe? Will be one of our highest earners and will free up some wage headroom.
Vokes was our top earner a couple of years ago apparently. Would like to think that’s no longer the case!

But until such time as the club confirm he's gone back and that's that, I'm confident of signing him.
If Morley wants to come back to us, all he has to do is go back, train really badly and have a couple of stinkers. Evatt won't want him.
I think Morley is too much of a professional and honourable man to do that.
Exactly, I would want him to do the exact opposite back at Bolton but ask to come back on loan to us at the end of Jan.

I like starting a sentence with a conjunction. It adds emphasis. But you shouldn’t overdo it.

Yep, Exeter would really whip up some hatred for the poor lad!

Would that be some kind of record, I wonder?
