It is obviously too knowing and too breaking the fourth wall-y...but I thought it was an enjoyable jokey romp compared to some of the overblown CGI Marvel films I've tried to sit through...
I think I'm going to work my way through all the MCU films in order as I've not seen most of them, but I doubt any can live up to Deadpool for sheer silliness - which is half the appeal.
I don't mind Deadpool films, take them for what they are meant to be I think, lighthearted and funny. I don't mind all the marvel films, tbh I've sat through pretty much all of them when my kids were younger, they are a bit of escapism, just go with it. My favourite out of all of them though I'd say is the Gardians of the Galaxy films, I actually really enjoy them, great soundtracks too !
Watchmen is another level altogether - the book and the film. And there's only one super-human in the whole thing. The rest are just severely dysfunctional people, some of them complete psychopaths.
I've watched the film and series but *still* not read the graphic novel - it's too big to take anywhere I might read out and about, and I'm too easily consumed by football to get any reading done at home!
I have to disagree here. The Guardians films are marketed as stupid smash ‘em crash ‘em fun but feature some of the best character development and story telling in the whole MCU.
The third Guardians film is really the only post infinity saga one worth rewatching. Rewatching the whole series makes you realize how far the quality has declined in the last several offerings.
Oh, actually, just the first series of Jessica Jones which was an incredibly clever way to smuggle a serious drama about domestic violence into something incels might watch. The second series was the usual Marvel guff.
What people do in posh schools instead of football. Watch 'This Sporting Life' instead of that Marvel crap to get a better idea about the sport (and films)

I think I know now what @flymofrank meant when he described Ethan as “definitely fucked”!
Who's Ethan?
Scroll back, young man and you’ll see. It was mrs micra who explained to this innocent abroad what you meant by saying he was clearly fucked.
I should make allowances as you did say that you were three sheets to the wind. Nothing to do with bedsheets on that occasion.
Save you backtracking.
Of course it may transpire that it wasn’t Ethan P Flynn of that ilk.
In case I used an outdated expression.

Ah yes, I slightly overdid it that night. And it got worse: I ended up talking to a couple of Arsenal fans on the train home.
Bit naughty but I’m interested in what people think and, largely thanks to me and @flymofrank, this post had wound up where the sun don’t shine.
That's the old meaning, granddad. It now means Reading fans are going to burn our stadium down.

At this stage, you probably don't have enough time left on earth to do that and try and do anything else.

Ha, fair point! Although the superhero genre is one where I don't usually find it a slog to sit through 2.5hrs+ of film - Watchmen is a go-to for me.
@HolmerBlue am with you there.
Steady on @Wendoverman. Before I opened the post you were commenting on, I thought I must be doomed. You and your predictive powers.
I was referring to @flymofrank @micra I think the majority of the rest of us are already beyond the point of having enough time to watch them all! 😉
(If you watch any of them you'll find we are all doomed. Over and over and over and over again....)

The pitch when drcongo tries to sell this place.

Also, technically only one superhuman, but Ozymandias is borderline...
The third Guardians of the Galaxy film should have been binned on the drawing board. Was it supposed to be entertainment?

It's like Tory Goon talking about Dungeons and Dragons all over again
I liked deadpool, the first two Guardians films, and Jessica Jones. The rest of it I hate. Like, really despise.
Other opinions are also valid.

or you talking about golf?
Or anyone talking about rugby ?
What's rugby?
