Thanks for all you've done for WWFC! I hope you join the WW ex-Players Association & come back to the annual dinner whenever possible. You'll be made very welcome!
I think the main reason they’ve done it now is to save 3 weeks of wages and allow him to train with his new club (Shrewsbury?). They won’t have paid him off for the rest of his contract.
With your background you'd probably know better than me but surely these "mutual" release scenarios very rarely end with no payoff. Maybe not the rest of the contract but surely some payoff.
i would have thought that his release now can give him home time with his family at Christmas, before he signs elsewhere? Whatever, his departure is tinged with sadness even though pretty predictable. What an amazing servant to our club he has been and he leaves us with all the best wishes for the future.

Things must be bad if ML needs to save three weeks of a player's wages. 😊
Quite possible but unlikely if Jason hasn’t found a team yet, which looks correct.
He still has 6 months left on his contract and probably well in excess of £50000.
If he is indeed without a club then I would hope we have paid him half, so 3 months. Gives him some security and us some savings.

@EwanHoosaami well said, an absolute credit to the club.
