Will de Havilland has been retrospectively given a one-match ban. A brief statement from Maidenhead:
Following the sitting of an FA Regulatory Commission on Tuesday, 3rd December, the Magpies' appeal against the second yellow card shown to Alan Massey in the match at York City last Saturday has been upheld.
The Commission found that the second yellow card recorded against Massey for an incident in the 50th minute of the game was a case of 'Mistaken Identity' and the yellow card has therefore been transferred instead to Will de Havilland for his involvement in this incident.
This means that Massey will now not have to face a one-match ban. As de Havilland was later cautioned in the 87th minute, the FA have instead given Will a one-match ban for receiving two cautions in the match.
@eric_plant agreed. He seemed to be the scapegoat for everything that went wrong that season. I remember when he scored against Hartlepool (IIRC), after being given dogs abuse the whole match. I couldn't resist turning round and telling said abuser exactly what I thought of him, along with a few others.
It was the frustration of knowing how naturally good Deano couod be when he chose to apply himself and how he didn’t / wouldn’t pull his weight to help those less gifted than him when our backs were against the wall. He was also an undermining influence in the dressing room / training ground leading impressionable youngsters astray. I remember standing next to the dugout at Beaconsfield in the B&B Cup when he and his coterie were frankly a disgrace to the shirt. Gaz was on the pitch but if he hadn’t been there would have been serious consequences. I felt for Dobbo who had to stand near (but as far as the technical area would allow) from Deano. Contrast that with Bayo and all he brought to the party!
I’m convinced that the experience of the consequences of having such a ‘bad apple’ around shaped the Gaz / Dobbo future personality recruitment policy. What a waste.
It's funny you should mention Bayo because much like the great man, Morgan would stay on the pitch at the end of every game to make sure every kid who wanted an autograph or selfie got one
We had a game right near the end of that Torquay season v Northampton where he scored a late "winner" in front of the Valley Terrace only for it to be (incorrectly) flagged for offside.
I happened to see him the next day and he must have been gutted still, and it was his day off away from football but he spared me 5 minutes to chat about that game and the season generally
It's pretty easy to get a reputation in football amongst fans and things very quickly start getting started as facts rather than unsubstantiated hearsay.
I liked him, he was a good player, and if it weren't for him we'd have gone down that season and we may longer have had a team to support
Surely Dean Morgan was most fans’ favourite player that season. Would he pass the Wycombe test today? Well, I never met him personally but by all accounts, no. But was he exactly what we needed that season? I would say so!

Looks like Chem Campbell is finally finding his feet...sadly with Reading.
Goals in League and Cup.
One goal in the league 5 weeks ago and 2 against a team many tiers below is a start but not something we should feel we've missed out on just yet
Harborough were probably about his level
An update on a post from a couple of weeks ago.
it is now only the sterling efforts of Ian Holloway that prevents ex-Chairboys managing the bottom club in each of the top four divisions.

Alex doing his best Jack Grealish impression here...
Sounds a sensible outcome, but slightly surprising they'd transfer a yellow like that? As usually yellows aren't subject to review?
I'm obviously old and not cool, but I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would want to permanently brand themselves like that.
I only have to think about some of the appalling haircuts or clothes I've had over the years and imagine if those were locked in for 40-50 years
Excuse higorance but who is Alex ? Is he the player we signed but never played for us because of injury?
Pattison
The beard and more rugged with age looks are obviously putting you off.
It's one of your favourites, Pattison!
He's been shown a straight RED!!
You’re right, I didn’t think you could appeal dismissals as a result of two yellows, which is why I was surprised to read their statement.
Alex Pattison was sent off two minutes after scoring for Bradford
You can appeal mistaken identify, which will nearly always result in the transfer of the card too.
Isn’t it Pattinson?
No.
Though I did quickly wonder if we'd all got mixed up with Pogo Pattison from Grange Hill.
Then realised that was Pogo Patterson.
He can't blame the red on Grealish surely?!
Dean Morgan at the game yesterday. Now he could be brilliant on his day but could sulk for England.
Worth a go. I’ve heard worse excuses.
An exceptional player and when we signed him it felt like we were cheating. But wow he was disruptive.
So much talent wasted due to his poor temperament.
We would not have stayed up that "Torquay Season" were it not for Dean Morgan. He was our best player by a million miles
Doesn't get anywhere near the respect he deserves
Damn my brain. Presumably confused between Pattison and Pattenden.
I thought DRC was making a joke about how everyone used to drop an extra 'n' into his name. Similar to 'Samuels'.
