  • It is disappointing and they wouldn't be turning down praise if they had played well but lots of mitigating factors, not easy against a settled side, job done.

  • Like Huddersfield on Tuesday 7th January?

  • Would Blooms put his best team out?

  • The strength and determination of the boy are awesome. What a find.

Hartridge just not at the races today, but I’m convinced there’s a player in there. For whatever reason he just hasn’t settled yet.

  • Do United know their best team?

  • Classic way of a coach trying to say his or her team played really well and deserved a goal or two (being a coach myself)!

Most certainly so ? Perhaps a major rotation for the rearranged Huddersfield game but I’ve no idea whether the Cup date is before or after 7 January.

Lee Hendry said we are due to play Reading away but surely it’s at Adams Park, isn’t it ? (I’m tired and being lazy.)

  • I think it’s a bit unfair to expect players who haven’t been in the starting XI to come in and be on top of their game right away. Especially away from home against a well rested and motivated team.

  • Comfortably I'd say

Made a number of exceptional saves to keep us ahead

  • Huddersfield first.

One or two. But one of those was recovering from a howler of misjudgment. Credit for the speed of his recovery of course

  • I thought Hartridge, Butcher and Grimmer didn’t have the best of games but we won and that is what mattered today.

  • That number being 2?

  • Job done. It’s all we ask. Well perhaps we’d like to have seen a bit more flowing football but credit to Wealdstone. They fought like tigers.

  • As an aside thought the ref was pretty good. Think it was the same guy that reffed the Chesham Lincoln game I went to and thought he was decent there too. Only question mark was the handball at the end but I couldn't see from my position.

  • The gun placement was disappointing. Not sure what I was expecting, a mini Martello Tower or something. Main thing is we are in the hat.

  • Kone different class today. Richard’s goal showed pace, power and the hunger to score, which was missing prior to his arrival.

  • Job done . Into the next round. A lot of the fringe players looked a little off the mark , not having had many minutes recently. Getting good minutes today, hopefully helps them get match ready. Kone is something special. Could be superstar material in a couple of years.

  • Watching it back, the performance looks a fair bit better than it did irl

  • Other than Birmingham perhaps, what other League 1 team could have changed ALL the starting eleven and still looked a reasonably cohesive outfit and win against a National League side?

Comfy win without playing particularly well. Great goal from Kone though. Thought their left back had a good game, a few dangerous runs and whipped balls. But that miss from their forward was unbelievable - saw it from many angles and no hint of any bobble, just for some reason chose to absolutely leather it rather than just a gentle tap.

Pitch looked a state in the flesh but quite good on the tv pictures I saw!

Wonder how many paid to stand then went and sat - being unallocated seating. Can't put that down to being non league really as people were doing the same at Bristol Rovers

Terrace wasn't a great viewpoint unless you were at the front, or very tall!

  • Glad Taf got a full match under his belt. He isn’t going to get ahead of Low or Taylor any time soon, but we do need to have some experienced backup available.

  • I think Skura is also ahead of him now.

  • Not sure it would have any bearing on a Championship club signing a player that possibly can't play him for 1 or 2 games.

Maybe we have a deal in place already

  • Strange feeling today. Didn't really have any cup tie romance, for me. All felt a little flat.

Perhaps the early kick off, the terrible service in Spoons, the hodge-podge nature of the ground and where away fans were, the fact we never looked like needing to get out of 2nd gear. Odd.

  • Was today the first time a Wycombe player has ever scored a winning goal in the morning?

  • Need a real old timer to confirm.

Previous pre midday game was 1986, but was a draw

  • Sadly I thought Wheeler the worst player on our team and think maybe he might start to look at a League Two team closer to his Brighton base in January - Bromley maybe? He's been my favourite Wycombe player since he signed but I think Matt will be dispassionate in his assessment of who will take us up a division and I'm not sure that's Wheeler any more. I thought Hartridge was decent enough today, playing out of position, but both he and Grimmer were lower League One level at best today. I think this match will have been really helpful for Matt in deciding where we need to strengthen in Jan and I'd say the priorities (excluding signing Morley on a permanent) will be left and right fullbacks able to slot into a team challenging for promotion.

  • Left and right back have been problem areas for us for years.
