Definitely more and more fans of different clubs chipping in with that their club should be looking at kone . Saw one from an Aberdeen fan after the game yesterday I nearly commented really don’t think he will be coming to you championship standard club at best in a tin pot league . Really don’t think he will be going anywhere for a year or so.
As had been said above, who else in league 1 could put out an entirely changed starting 11 to see off a National League side who were ‘up for the cup’.
if that 11 played together week in, week out, they’d be a solid league 1 side in their own right. Probably not promotion material but certainly capable of staying up.
We are remarkably blessed at the moment.
The tricky question is what happens in round 3? Does Matt reward his cup side with the start or, if the game looks winnable (any struggling championship or premier league side at home, anyone below that home or away), play the league players?
What an excellent programme Wealdstone produced, full of interesting historical content on the two teams. I stopped buying programmes a few years, due to no space, but am glad I bought this one.
I did have to wonder if some of those in the away end yesterday had ever been to a football match before. You don't shout at people to 'sit down!' when they semi-stand up during a promising attack. If it was persistent standing I could understand, but this was just instinctive.
That terrace behind the goal was so crap I'm amazed people weren't shouting at people to get down there too! Anyone not in the front row surely couldn't hope to see the ball hit the net unless it was top bins.
Side on seemed the better bet. But not at the back. That must have been a shocking view especially of the far end
I ended up in the very front row of the seats. Was ok, would have been better if there weren't flags all over the fence next to the goal - which I imagine is left without hoardings exactly to *stop* people's view being blocked.
A mate had paid for a seat but decided to stand. But made the good point of good luck to anyone with a seat arriving after about 11 trying to actually find a spare seat!
Her Indoors and I arrived just after kickoff after Apple Maps had directed a walking route that took us along a path to a locked gate not far from the ground. Neither of us being of an age to climb it and not in possession of a lock-pickers rake, we made a long backtrack. As such here was only one seat not in the front row and those seats offer a view through the fence, maybe just over if you are Caleb Taylor sized.
Being the gent I am, escorted the Good Lady Teacher Wife to the seat with a view and went to stand at the side. Being late I was condemned to back row and saw maybe 75% of the action. But both goals were sighted, the burger was quality and it wasn’t raining. Can’t complain at all.
I didn't know that Wealdstone got quite that much for Lower Mead (around twice what we got from the CPO on Loakes Park IIRC), it's quite incredible they squandered so much money groundsharing at Vicarage Road at great expense to play in front of three-figure crowds, I'm sure our friend Paul knows way more than I do about embezzlement of anything else.
All the while we shrewdly used the money we got from selling Loakes Park to build Adams Park.
This is a report from yesterday on Barnet's move back to Barnet. They are about to put in a planning application to build a 7000 seater stadium, costing £14 million, at Ark Pioneer Academy, close to their old Underhill ground.
Excellent article. Thoroughly well-researched. Very interesting that our budget is perceived to be the ninth highest in the division. Hilarious that we are top when Birmingham’s budget must dwarf ours. Football remains played on grass.

Side on wasn't great if the ball was down the other end, reminded me of AFC Wimbledons borrowed ground.
My mate also paid for a seat and chose to stand with the rest of our group who’d all got standing tickets.
I suspect a few with seats never got to sit
Idk what had happened in the toilets, but there was a massive hole in the floor 😂
Sinkhole? Stinkhole?

Paul being quite The Rumen there.

Was there a suggestion Barnet will move back to somewhere near Barnet and Wealdstone might end up at the hive in some way?
This is a report from yesterday on Barnet's move back to Barnet. They are about to put in a planning application to build a 7000 seater stadium, costing £14 million, at Ark Pioneer Academy, close to their old Underhill ground.
Wealdstone announced plans for a new 6300 capacity stadium in Hillingdon a year ago. Not sure what the latest is.
https://www.wealdstone-fc.com/post/club-statement-club-plans-new-stadium
If Barnet return to the site next door to Underhill then The Hive should be offered to Wealdstone.
Originally The Hive was supposed to be for Wealdstone and is less than a mile from the area of Wealdstone.
The site at Hillingdon is at least seven miles from Wealdstone which is madness.
Unfortunately they didn't see all of that money, ended up with a fraction of it as the company overseeing the sale of the ground went into liquidation
It was much worse than that. The vast majority of the sales proceeds were outright stolen.
Daily Mail. We have him until 2028 they say.
Bloody hell. The image looks normal size on my phone but a monster on the PC.......

The article says 2026 not 2028, which I believe is correct.
Something about 'Should have gone to Specsavers'
(I went to them once. They weren't very good)
