indeed, the club havnt even addressed his sacking which seems mental, call me naive but surely if you make a decision which you fully stand by its motives you address it with your chest out, instead gets leaked out by a football insider, posted from twitter on this forum by someone i cant remember which thread. Now there's speculation on it.
From the link posted, it’s a bit of column A and a bit of column B isn’t it?
Master crafts man is someone that will be running there own company so more likely to stay at one place of work.
The Journeyman, however well qualified and certified , is just regarded as a day worker, or a. Employee that will work under a master crafts man, or men and thus more likely move between employments and companies.
It's naive to think that the club will explain every decision and that someone who has put in millions feels the need to update us around every staffing change. Unlikely that Blooms and the guy him self haven't had it explained in detail, perhaps they all wanted to keep it between them to protect reputations or in case of any legal recourse.
for the most part i agree, but this isnt some small role. Head of recruitment is such a key cog in any club and the timing of it right before what potentially could be a huge window for us as a club, to unsettle what is working seems very very weird to me. We manage to make the step of getting to the champ it could really propel the clubs project forward very quickly.
Could it be that the ownership group want a broader role? Head of Recruitment sounds like it’s focused on incomings, but the ‘sustainable’ part of the business model hinges on getting the outgoings right. Perhaps they want to bring in someone with experience in handling successful outgoings. Merely speculating.
Or it’s a confidential reason we have no reasonable reason to know.
I’m not saying it is, but there are loads of reasons why they wouldn’t do a full press release. To protect the club, the staff, the man himself or simply commercial reasons.
The basic understanding of a touchdown in American football, isn’t that the ball needs to be touched down on the ground. But rather the player in possession of the ball must be touching the ground - ergo touching down - once the whole of the ball has passed the plane of the goal line. Or some complicated phrasing.
Theres also some weird rules that the ball can touch the weird post thing in the corner of the end zone to be considered a touch down, but American Sports be crazy. So it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s only true in the 2nd Monday of the month between Halloween and thanks giving
Did you know why it’s called a try though? I didn’t until recently and I played the silly game. Originally you only scored points in rugby by kicking the ball over/through the goal posts.
The way you got to have a go at scoring that point, or “trying” to score that point, is by touching the ball down behind the opposition posts.
Therefore, they go to all that effort to get the ball over the line to earn a “try” at scoring a point. Many games would have ended a 0-0 even though teams got the ball into the try area. It took them a while to figure out it’s harder to get the ball over the goal line and touched down than kicking it over the massive posts. Head injuries must have been a thing then too.
Some were touting him for the England job after Southgate - As recently as during the last tournament. From being Linked to the England job to now Linked with the Coventry job.
I’m not sure what that’s a damning verdict of:
Frank Lampards abilities.
How highly regarded the England job is and skills required to do it.
Back in the day, being half decent at football, I’d be given a leather waterlogged ball on a mud bath to attempt the ‘conversion’. Having stood around in the cold for half an hour not getting near the ball watching the fat lads rumbling away anywhere over a 40 yard long line to score a ‘try’ brought home the stupidity of ‘the handling game’. Still it taught a generation of junior officers to lead their troops unquestioningly over the top to almost certain slaughter, so that’s all right then!

Is Danny Bloomfield the new Kevin Couhig?
Correct, and that is another example in itself, no wonder they ended up with a clown in charge if they never say what they mean.

Footage of Bloomfield’s arrival after being announced as new Coventry boss, before realising he prefers the trees and Red Kites in Sands.
It will be interesting to see (or in my case, hear about) the chemistry between Dan Rice and Blooms on the Nov 21st fan forum.
They most certainly do. That definition is spot on.
Understandable misunderstanding but @Shev’s definition definitely applies on this side of the pond.

Still, learned something new!
Hopefully someone asks about the ‘ sacking’ of Scott Mitchell. Absolutely nothing from the club. Seems a bit unsavoury. Not how Wycombe do things.

Those that have the information and made the decision will be perfectly aware of that and still chose to do it. We don't.
I give you a this ...

I’m afraid a link in black doesn’t work on my iPhone. Frustratingly, that is also the case with links to earlier posts.
Are you able to copy and paste the URL or whatever it’s called?

A different source but also confirming the correctness of your understanding, @Twizz.

Clearly I got it wrong. It seems that you DO need to have been on the move (journey) between several/numerous clubs to qualify for the description.

I'm having a slow lazy Saturday morning, so thought I'd have a look on the Coventry forum.
As of last night they seem to think that Blooms has turned them down. They now seem to think they'll end up with Lampard, which hasn't gone down well.
So we’ve had at least two of them. Broughton and Claridge.
Louis Jefferson is legendary of course. Detained at Her Majesty’s pleasure at one stage during his perambulations, I believe.
I also seem to remember Claridge being a journeyman striker at the time he joined us too.
At least my thread hijack appears to have done the trick, if indeed Matt has turned down Coventry.

Arguably an even sillier game than Rugby. As at least in Rugby you have to carry the ball across the line and literally touch it down.
Just throwing it from miles away to some marauding bloke in a weird outfit to catch it then throw it on the floor is utterly daft.
Fans of both sports devastated to miss out on your endorsement

Literally mental.
Rowing, now there's a mental sport too. They don't even look where they are going.
Amazes me Fat Frank still gets linked with jobs let alone could actually land one. Awful manager
