Football management is a precarious business as we all know and sometimes you just have to take your opportunities when they come as they may not come again. Blooms seems to have done a remarkable job so far but it only takes a few injuries , suspension or loss of form to change things and we’re still early in the season. As an outsider here I’d say that the opportunity to manage a big club like Coventry with all the fan base and resources available there would be a tough job to turn down for Blooms even given his love for Wycombe. Of course there are risks, there are with any move but if you have confidence in your ability you’d want to test it at the highest level. If you do get promoted this year could you push on for the PL. maybe but probably not but Coventry certainly can. They might not be pulling up trees at the moment but they’re far from a basket case and have a quality squad so if the moneys right I suspect it would be a tough thing for Blooms to turn it down. Let’s face it, if he got a 3 year contract and it went sour after 6 months he’d be due a hefty pay off if they sacked him so what’s for him to lose? For your sakes I hope he doesn’t go because I think you have a real chance of promotion with the side you have now and it would be sad to disrupt it. 😉

You may have an inside track, are you still sponsoring the manager? Is this a personal opinion or are you saying you've heard this from the horses mouth. Appreciate you may not wish to disclose that on here as it might put Matt in a very difficult position....but equally if you are still sponsoring him should you really be saying this in public?
I picked up from the Dan interview that they have a lot to do with the academy and are happy to leave the first team in safe, capable hands. So no disrespect to MB.
Is it too early for him to leave without too many accomplishments on his CV? Does his family want disruption at this stage?
What are his ambitions, not every manager wants the scrutiny and attentions of the press all the time.
I really hope he doesn't go. I'd honestly be surprised if he was offered the job off the back of a good half a season in League 1.
If he did get offered the job I think it would have to be a really good offer to tempt him away. Wouldn't blame him if that happened as football is a sport where fortunes can change quickly and he may see it as too good a chance to turn down. It should be remembered that as loyal as he has been to Wycombe, many fans didn't need long to be calling for him to be sacked last season. He'll be aware that loyalty is something soon forgotten, even when you are a club legend, when results start heading the wrong way, and it could be best to take such an offer while it is there.
Hopefully Coventry will just hurry up, appoint someone else and we can all stop worrying until the next management casualty.
To be fair @Kadoogan though the ones who wanted GAs head for years soon went after MB, he got a dispiriting end to the season and until Christmas the following season before even the diehards were starting to doubt....I think for most of us, our loyalty was there for a long time willing him to turn it around.

I think the Coventry fan backlash is really over the top. Though I want Blooms to stay (and lean towards expecting him to), I am also mentally filing away their disrespectful comments about Blooms to laugh at them when he is a PL manager by 2030.
Much like the over-the-top disrespect towards GA's troubled tenure by QPR fans has me laughing at them spending 10 million in the summer (a luxury he didn't have) to be in much the same spot as when he got fired.
Amid all the rumours and speculation, one thing I do find amazing to think about is how different a management career can be from a playing career.
Blooms was basically a journeyman lower league pro, with an amazing ascent to a season (and a goal!) in the Champo, but aside from that, not known by name outside Wycombe.
Now (whether there is any basis in reality or not) he is being mentioned for Championship jobs, cited as one of the up and coming English managers, and name checked in a debate about Thomas Tuchel being made England manager!
The idea that Blooms could someday be a recognized name around the country owing to his management talent is very satisfying, though we'll have to see if he gets there.

I've come to sadly realise that Ainsworth shouldn't return. However Martin O'Neill is available and could finish his 'silly little dream'.
