I do now I ksnow about them. I have always felt a small amount of affection for Crewe, Swindon and Doncaster (never Derby for some strange reason), I do think that those clubs could have been a bit more judicious when choosing their names although Crewe were imaginative and did do well with their nickname.

That's an interesting one. Pre ‘71 it was Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic FC. And indeed was Boscombe Athletic afore that.
Of course Wimbledon is the other AFC.
No longer in the Scottish League but Albion Rovers is the ultimate prefix/suffix club!
Whilst on the subject of previous suffix then Leicester Fosse* and Walsall Town Swifts come to mind.
*Leicester fans sadly voted a few seasons back not to revert to their original name.
It’s not unique as only one club - Charlton Athletic have it as a real suffix

Wigan…..
And of course our favourite Athletic would have to be Newham.
Has anyone seen @micra around the last 2 or 3 days?
I would have expected him to be all over this so just hoping he’s okay.
@bookertease I had assumed he'd also be all over the Wealdstone tie. But good news - he's just posted on the Stockport thread! 😊
Hopefully @micra was just taking a rest, so he could enjoy the evenings entertainment from Edgeley Park?
