Really right up there as one of the most enjoyable games I’ve seen. Decent football from both sides. Despite the bed-wetting on their forum Posh are pretty good going forward, although our press won the ball in their third, what, 10 times maybe? I so enjoyed the last 10 minutes or so as we played out time in absolute comfort.
I have never hated Posh the team (or Fergie, who seems like a decent chap and has been really good to Blooms), just irritated by the owner and journalist. Peterborough games are almost always massively entertaining, and I think they deserve a bit of credit for that - their fans are always entertained.
That being said, it is hilarious to keep putting one over on them in the league!
Strange atmosphere with the early kick off, but a really good game.
Strong spell from us in the first half, but Peterborough ended better.
Everyone worried it was going to be one of those days as they took the lead, then missed a great chance to make it 2.
Then enter Mr Kone. Composed bring down but bit of luck with the deflection, but then an absolutely superb header for the 2nd, when many had given up the ghost after Scowen's sliced skew in the air.
The penalty awarded with a second yellow for their man made it one of those rare moments you knew it was our day. And comfortably seen out.
We could be a real force this season.
Any stattos know if we've ever had a 2nd half sub hattrick before? Certainly not in league days i'm sure.
We've had a couple of contenders for "best squad" over the last decade, but I think this has to be it now.
We've got 28 or 29 players and you could probably mix and match 25 or so of them without weakening the first 11.
A few weeks ago people were saying Grimmer was the weak link, but he put a superb performance in today that could easily have won man of the match if Kone hadn't done his thing.
I've just got home, feels a bit weird... too early !
Anyway, I thought we looked really good again, 1st half it was all us, just that final ball, ball not falling for us that meant we didn't score, although tbf they really came back into it last 10 minutes. 2nd half they started much better and I think their goal was the kick up the backside we needed ! After that we were superb, our passing and movement really is a joy to watch, and Kone, well, he just knows where the net is doesn't he ?
Only slight downside for me was Rav, he watched the ball for the goal just go past him, and there were a few chances in the last 10 of the first half that he looked terrified of when the ball came into the 6 yard box
It's a weird division - there is Birmingham and then about 12-15 teams which you could argue are of a very similar standard. Could make for a very exciting season and an unusually low points total for 2nd and 6th if everyone beats everyone.
Yes Wycombe! My 9 year old son is starting to really get on the Wycombe Wanderers train! We are going to Burton on Tuesday night, it will be his 7th game and he's only seen one victory, we are hoping King Kone turns up again....
I’m afraid to let you know that we won’t win, because I’m going. Today makes it 18 points in the 6 league games I’ve not been too, to go along with 2 points from the 4 I have been too
Kone is a single minded goal scorer and that will be the difference for us this season. We’ve had selfless strikers in recent years but nothing like Kone in his focus of getting the ball and wanting to score. He also misses a fair few and it doesn’t bother him. A glaring miss can haunt a striker but he seems immune to it and filled with belief that the next one is going in.
The interview with Matt on Wanderers TV emphasises what is clear to see about the lad. He’s loved and his ‘innocence’ is a joy on and off the pitch.
I just wish I had managed to get that over 15 goals bet on before the season started. Would have been nice to have the extra cash at Christmas.
The Sky+ thing has obviously had an impact on attendances, but hopefully playing that way, and winning in that manner, will mean any casual, local viewers may be tempted to come down

Possibly the best football from WWFC I have seen in 30 plus years as a season ticket holder. 🤷♂️

Start spreading the news it’s good football at Adams Park - let’s build them crowds!

What an absolute joy this team is right now. Arise King Kone - get a very long term contract in front of him asap. That boy is going right to the top.
Birmingham surely can't be overcome, but there's no reason 2nd is impossible.
Birmingham are the only team that seem markedly better than the rest at this stage. I’m definitely not convinced by Wrexham.

We need to as that crowd was woeful today.
Yes early kick off / Sky and someone will probably say it's some sort of holiday season etc, but that's a woeful crowd.
Although an old pal came today and I felt bad watching him pay £29!

Up to third now which is basically top of the table when you consider how much Wrexham and Birmingham have spent

We're only 3 points behind Wrexham, and they have to come to Adams Park later in the season.
We are now top of the Last 6 form table, and if we can keep that going, we will overtake them.

Stay at home 👍
Sounds like @RichardBomberHarris’s son is as cursed as you though so with a bit of luck you’ll cancel each other out.
That aged like a fine wine. 👍
🎵 Start spreading the news, the name's Richard Kone,
I want to be a part of it, Adams Park, Adams Park 🎵
This also aged like vintage wine!
The atmosphere on the terrace was pretty good for the Crawley game, but it was better still today.
😂
I'm prepared to go out at half time and come back to that if they are happy to keep doing it, anyone know if Sky plus does the full match on delay?

That’s the best team performance under Blooms. Tell me I’m wrong.
Not only that, he’s also really good at setting up goals for others too.
Good to see the goal count increase. We could boot someone one of these days.
