Sean Devine was frozen out at Barnet with precious few suitors. We had improbably just sold Keith Scott for the same sum to Reading, it was a no brainer to get someone in who had scored a hatful in a short loan spell. If it wasn't for his horrendous knee trouble, he would either have been our record goalscorer by some distance, or our first player sold for over £1m.

Joe Biden was the Wycombe mascot?!
Might be mis-remembering, but thought Currie was 250k and Roberts maybe 150k?
The original plan was trying to get Nathan Ellington for 400k, but instead we went the 2 wingers approach.
Checking wiki, that has it as 200k to us, Adams geniusly released him for free, only to see him then sold for 250k down the line at a future club.
I thought Devine was 250k back in the day, but again re-checking that it seems to be 200k too!
I thought devine was 250k and 200k for currie 🤔
I did think that too but seemingly not.
What does seem incredible is how big a sum that was for us back then and why on earth no-one else had taken a chance on him before then.
