I remember going up there for our 3rd round tie mid 80s back when they were a league side and we were the non-league outfit, the ground was a cage. Fingers crossed for a different result this time around.
‘Beige’! Just wait until they discover The Merletto Lounge. I think it’s an interesting tie. They’ll bring a few if it’s on the Saturday and probably fancy an upset. I hope we give it the respect it deserves. I know York aren’t in the same bracket as Stourbridge (and it’s an earlier round) but I really enjoyed that game and the atmosphere their fans helped create that day.
I would like to think that this tie could be made a "quid a kid" game. That would not only help York to bring more supporters but would help fill up the Family Stand, enabling the Frank Adams Stand to remain open. My first ever WW game was an FA Cup 1st Round match in 1970. Goodness knows how much I've spent subsequently following WWFC!
Prices have to be agreed between the clubs but I'm sure the Yorkies would appreciate some money off. I would hope York would bring 1,000 supporters & it should be a good day out. I sincerely hope WWFC don't start shutting stands & lounges & downgrading the game. There aren't replays anymore from this stage onwards so it's an important game. Let's give it the standing it deserves.
Agree with the sentiment but personally I’m happy to pay a fiver for my son, it’s the adult prices I baulk at. Some kind of incentives would be welcome.
Don't think so. What a club can't do though is hand out "free tickets", say as part of a hospitality package.
As it's only gate receipts that are shared not including hospitality packages, the price of "free tickets" is calculated based on the nearest equivalent.
So the club can't sell a hospitality box and keep all the monies - a price for match ticket has to be included in gate receipts.
Price of the match ticket might be deemed to be the mist expensive price in Frank Adams Stand for instance.
If being shit for the best part of two decades and careering out of the league is exciting we'll maybe have to suffer on with the beige old Wembley trips , championship visit and billionaire owner. It's a hard life.
This brief article from their equivalent of the Bucks Free Press and the comments are less sanguine than those on their forum. They don't seem delighted with the draw.

Club Captain no less.
Decent draw, but quite tricky. They're going well in the NL, getting good crowds. Would imagine they'll bring a good number down.
We owe them for 86! COYB!
I said ‘winnable,’ not who do we want in round two!

York fans are less than impressed, apparently we are boring, beige, crap town and crap ground. But they are also quite confident of beating us
Was that the first time we made it to the third round?
Middlesbrough
Of course. I’ve had a nightmare here.

York City think WE'RE boring?! Ouch!

Great idea !

Cambridge
That would be ideal, but don't the FA set minimum entrance prices?
I suspect that he isn't speaking from an informed position, some people do that.

Home club sets prices at its discretion subject to a minimum charge of £10 but no minimum for concessions.
Discounting kids is actually not a bad idea for what will likely otherwise be (sadly) a lowly attended game.
To be fair most places aren’t as nice as York.

Has a permanent club captain ever gone on to play less games for us? Doubt that is documented tbh.
A huge seven games before having to retire due to an injury.

York's stadium looks great. 'Built to championship standards', I think they're being a tad optimistic of getting there!
😂 It seats less than 9,000.
They shouldn't be either.
Drawing a team going great guns, 2 divisions higher, away, doesn't scream great chance for progress!
So does AP
Yes, and I wouldn't describe AP as 'built to Championship standards' either.
