Just watched it again and no there’s no clear foul to me, I think if I was a Rovers fan (God forbid) I’d be a bit more concerned about the half a dozen defenders standing around when the ball was coming in.
I must have watched it more than a dozen times and I now think Beryly Lubala does foul Josh Griffiths. He moves his right arm and briefly grabs Griffiths hip, which clearly obstructs him.
However, Clinton Mola simultaneously grabs and pulls Joe Low’s shirt.
Two wrongs don’t make a right as the saying goes. Most significantly however is Low puts the ball in the back of the net despite being fouled.
On balance I think Martin Woods deserves credit for giving the goal. Unlike me he only had one view of it.
I reckon players will appeal for something about 90% of the time when goals are scored unless it’s a worldie like our first goal. In fairness he did say he was obstructed by Lubala but didn’t use it as an excuse. Here’s his explanation: “That’s on me and us,” he said. “There’s enough people in there to deal with it. I don’t think I can get out as the guy is blocking me, but there’s no excuse there as we’ve all got to deal with that together as a group.”
Standing on the open terrace at The Mem is always a bit of a lottery: weather / angry fans in the stand next door. Saturday though was a joy: sunny weather and fine renditions of “Cherio Cherio Cherio👋” / “Is there a fire drill?” to the departing horse-punchers descending the fire escape next to us. Away wins at The Gas are one of life’s simple pleasures
It's crazy to think we are an offside Blackpool goal away from Blooms matching GA's league record five wins on the bounce - and we could still get there if we turn over Barnsley and Crawley, too.
Did anyone else notice Phil and Blooms getting tagged by sprinklers in the pre-match interview? It would not be a Bristol Rovers away game without some sprinkler scandal!

I’m still unsure
And then awarded a penalty for the slightly earlier foul on Low?
I suspect he was drawn to the very clear foul on Low which was right in front of him.
Does not get much better than a last minute winner away to Rovers.
Not convinced that's a foul by Lubala. A striker doesn’t have to move for the keeper's convenience.
Low said he'd have got a pen if he hadn't scored anyway, so definitely no problem overall.

It would have been a problem if we missed the penalty though!
We all secretly feel good if someone grabs our hip though, let's be honest.
Or in other words, “that ‘foul’ changes nothing”
I watched an interview with the Bristol Rovers goalkeeper who said that he had no complaints and that they should have dealt better with the corner.
He had a complaint at the time
Maybe he was just frantically waving his arms at the officials to say hi?
Or to tell the ref he needed a "comfort break".

I think we all know what your take on the goal would be had we conceded it

And I think we all know that you will defend every refereeing decision right or wrong.
That sounds like a job application for the civil service

I've literally said on this thread I thought it was a foul on their keeper.
Why couldn't the keeper take a step or two to his right, to get away from Bez, and then run across behind the goal line, to get where he needed to be?
Anyway, it's all moot, if the foul on Joe Low was going to result in a penalty if he hadn't scored.

Thanks @floyd. Maybe it was the previous season.
