The squad we had last season was totally unsuited. No-one to play left wing back and left us totally unbalanced. Fred sorts out the left side as an option. I'd still prefer 4-4-2, but flexibility helps, which is the point that was being made.
Skura was excellent. And don’t forget we have Ryan Tafazolli (occasionally) and Caleb Taylor. Also Jack Grimmer is fine as a right sided central defender in a three.
Yes, Fred played as a left wingback towards the end of the Championship season with Jason McCarthy remarkably good at right wingback. Can’t recall how good his crosses were though. Fred was aged 18 years and three days when he first came to Adams Park.
In the Cup (?) game against Spurs there was one comical moment when Fred finished on the deck on top of Harry Kane on the touchline. Big grin on Fred’s face.
Cant knock our scouting of talented youth from the lower leagues.... However at 1st glance of your post and subsequent quick scroll of the article, I was a little disappointed that we were not looking at the son of Jockey McSporran 🤣
There’s some (dubious?) reports that Aston Villa are looking to recall Barry from Stockport and send him out to the championship, potentially Sheffield Wednesday or Middlesbrough. Would be excellent news for us if that does happen
Irritating pop-up(s) on that link, @OX66, even after the ritual deletion of links to unwanted stuff. And the journalist (whose name I have inevitably forgotten) seems to be unaware of our rapidly improving young central defender, Declan Skura.
Just had a quick phone chat with my Charlton supporting mate. He rates Lloyd Jones as Charlton’s best player and points out that his time out with a stress fracture has co-incided with their run of disappointing results.
I'd be very surprised if West Brom recalled Taylor. I could only imagine that happening if they have a major injury crisis without the means to bring in another defender in January. Morley's the only loanee I'm worried about.

Not seen it in Skura yet, but I know a fair few think he's got something.
Skura smashed it against Swans with Low - both of them managed the high press really well.
Certainly a lot to think about. We already had a tonne of options before this, let alone with Fred and the injury returnees.
Fred gives us the forward options replacement for McLeary or Sadlier
If he's fit and still the player we sold (or better!) he's surely the first name on the lineup.

Will certainly be interesting how Bloomfield uses him.
Not sure how close the likes of Wheeler and Lubala are to a return but there might need to be the odd loan out.
absolutely incredible signing ...fantastic work by blooms and team
When he first came on loan he couldn’t drive and had to be picked up from Wycombe station.
I just feel bad for Birmingham and Wrexham being stuck with a bunch of overpriced, no name flat track bullies, and we’ve got Fred Onyedinma.
Stupid question. Contract length?
Usually 2 sides of A4. Standard stuff.
11.7 inches?
I thought he was 17. I remember him being put in a taxi to his digs in Downley.

Great to have him back.
Sounds about correct @micra , hence the lack of a driving licence!

Ryan Cole of Newmarket on trial with us.
Additionally, Bloomfield is liking Arthur Read’s posts on LinkedIn, so there is possibly something in those rumours too.

First rumour, almost two months before the January transfer window opens, is left-sided midfielder / attacker Ethon Archer from Cheltenham Town.
Source?
red, brown OR no source at all?
It’s always got to be Heinz tomato ketchup.

And great news for my Richard Kone top scorer bet too.

I wonder if he fits the profile Matt is looking for as he is 29 years old.
If there's any truth in this, I'd imagine it would spell the end of Taff's time at the club.
Or Caleb Taylor’s ?
