I used to love those, pre transfer deadline days, where team line ups featured players brought in after the photo shoot as small, usually b/w, head and shoulder vignettes in the bottom corners of the page. Simpler times.
He did, but that felt like a system particularly suiting the higher division at that point in time.
Will be interesting to see if Bloomfield is still thinking about wing backs. Not sure we've got the centre backs for it, although Hartridge would definitely suit a back 3.
But I'd have thought Fred would be a real game changer as an out and out attacker now.
He can play winger or wing back either side. Will allow us much greater flexibility if we want to move from a 442 to a 352 for example. Pretty obvious really!
He was fantastic for us at left wing back in the championship so not sure why we wouldn't want to see it again.
Interesting that one signing has made you totally change your mind on the wing back system? Just the wrong players for it at the start of the Bloomfield regime?

I would have gone for a lookalike for the shoot, myself. But I can’t think of anybody who he has a resemblance too.
His jawline is a bit ‘Eggsy’ from Kingsman but I suspect Taron Egerton was busy.
River Phoenix.
Not sure he would have been able to stand in for Nathan, mind.

For those hopeful of signing striker Freddie Ladapo, he’s about to join Huddersfield Town.
I was sort of hopeful...... but I'm happier that Charlton signed that c**t Hylton and we stayed well clear.
Our current forwards have the ability to do special things for us....
I'm not 100% convinced.... yet.... but I have a feeling things might yet come good....
We might be missing out of Freddie L but remember other Freds are available 😉
No might about it. I’m sure they will.
Fred again😍
Beating @kipper to the draw here...
The Twitter feed is heavily dropping a hint with a cryptic tweet - https://x.com/wwfcofficial/status/1833479283592851710?t=5KHwUvShZmVhoZv32coBbw&s=19
The next tweet might be someone telling their mum that a Fred is on her dinner.
Well played, I've heard whispers all summer, was never sure it was going to come off
Just been announced.
Fred is back
Now that is a signing
Fantastic news. A real statement of intent
Guess the office doesn't need tidying today
Brilliant signing.
Big signing, still only 27.
Hopefully unleashed as a left winger, not that left wing back role that was a necessity in the championship days.
Some real competition for places now! Wonder how it'll work between him and Sadlier?
Gives us a lot of flexibility at the back.
Trying to work out if this is a pun or an in joke?
How does signing a forward do that?
Fred! Fred! I can hardly believe it! Wonderful scenes.
We don’t deserve our media team.
It's blindingly obvious how
Great signing. Can't believe he's only 27!
Fred played wingback for us tail end of the Championship season and smashed it.
Had to check what age he first joined us. 3 days after turning 18 apparently. I mis-remembered him as being even younger than that.

I'd argue Low, skura and Hartridge as a back 3 would work.
