Interesting idea but wouldn't there be a risk of nuclear fallout affecting Israel; not to mention the possibility of a retaliatory strike by Russia, who would likely make the correct calculation that NATO would leave Israel to its fate?
Not sure that will be included quite like that in the school curriculum in the post-2029 Brave New World of the Farage/Facist English (and probably the English speaking bits of Wales) government.
I'm increasingly annoyed with the whole Starmer is Blair 2.0 thing. He is nothing like Blair. He is a vacuum of personality, has the debating skills of a solicitor, is torn between centrist belief and a socialist leaning party, he flip flops on a whim, he will spend so much time pondering decisions he will never make any and we will stagnate on the major changes we need to make as a country. And he is still head and shoulders above the incumbent. Where to put my x? Where to put my x?
So unwilling to commit to a position he wouldn’t name his favourite novel on a recent interview. Playing the campaign so unnecessarily risk-averse and defensive he makes Southgate look like Ossie Ardiles.
He seems totally unprepared for being Prime Minister and having to actually take decisions.
I get the feeling that every word, every outfit, every meeting, every aspect of his being has been think-tanked by a committee. His views on Brexit, the Middle East, gender, immigration, the economy are a word soup of evasion usually prefixed with ‘let me be clear’.
It’s gonna be a shitty five years. Our only hope is that it’s less shitty than the previous five.
After the arrogance of an entitled clown, a mad eyed lunatic and a chippy power hungry rich kid, maybe, just maybe a dull, thorough, grounded administrator is what we need to steady the ship. Just maybe?
To be honest @Chris he doesn’t need to do anything to win the election, Sunak and his hopeless mob of criminals and cheats are doing a great job of losing without any intervention.
Oh I agree completely. But winning the election isn’t the end in and of itself. He had all the freedom to have proposed bold policies that would have changed people’s lives for the better.
I’m slightly disturbed to have got wind of a few more people who have already voted by post for Farage’s mob or plan to do so on 4 July. Their half a dozen or so MPs are not going to make much difference in the wider scheme of things, apart from detracting further from the “mainstream” Tory vote.
Or is this becoming a Brexit situation where enough racists and xenophobics are persuaded that Farage is just the man to sort out the immigration “situation” in the simplistic terms in which they see it to create a surprise?
Aside from that, the more I see of Starmer the less impressed I am but I think @perfidious_albion has got it about right.
If his time as an MEP are anything to go on, he'll never turn up anyway, just claim all the expenses he can get away with. The guys is just a complete shyster.

I suspect (well sincerely hope) that @Kim_il_Swan was not being entirely serious with their suggestion.
Ah, yes @bookertease , I hadn't considered that possibility but I think you're right.

If Switzerland beat Scotland tonight I will genuinely want global annihilation.
I've no idea what you're on about, @Kim_il_Swan, but it sounds tremendously exciting.
I’ve got to stop opening this thread.
Only two weeks to go.
I suppose I should have attached a poll but I think I can guess how some people are voting.
LX1- Lord Buckethead or whatever he's called.
Shev- Democrat (if he has the vote over there)
DrCongo- Communist Workers Party
Micra- Whig
With reservations I’m planning to vote Green (in a safe Labour seat.)
Short video for anyone else interested in the spreadsheet error mentioned a couple of pages back (I'm just catching up on the thread):

Communist Workers Party?! Splitters.
We’re all monster raving loonies now.
For anyone interested the future Prime Minister will be visiting Adams Park before election day.
Are we auditioning for a new mascot then?
Is he bringing his beloved Arsenal team with him!
Unless he gets half way along Hillbottom Road, and then does one of his U-turns ...
Steel Starmer is not for turning (predictive offered everyone there - a very good shout).

Not the first time. For some reason the Shadow Cabinet met there last year.

Thought this was your take on past Wycombe owners until I realised what thread we were in.
OK, steadying the ship didn't work but did you have any better ideas???
If everything was basically fine and we just needed a steady hand to stay on course I might agree. But is everything fine?

Other than Beery Nigel himself, I can't see Reform winning any seats.
