That's the end of Reading FC, I fear. If Dai won't accept an offer from the the "exclusive" group, he won't accept one at all. The deluded bloke seems to think the club is worth more than it is after he run it into the ground.
Fingers crossed for you, mate. There have been other clubs who were stuck with awful owners (Blackpool come to mind) who eventually survived and thrived. Unfortunately Dai just seems like the worst kind - incompetent and obstinate in equal measure.
I suspect you could find yourself owned by Rob Couhig. He is genuine. Has funding. He has a dream of getting a Championship club, and with due respect to us you are probably better placed (when you get your shit together) than us in achieving that.
Just remember which Couhig to abuse when things don't go your way. IT'S ROB NOT PETE.
There was a rumour a week or so ago that a Couhig (cannot remember which one) was looking around the SCL at the time. Wouldn't be adverse to your previous owner to taking over our club, having read the comments about him on here. I must admit though that I didn't know there is two Couhigs. Any background information on both of them? Did they both own Wanderers etc.?
Rob owned the club and his wife Missy and nephew Pete supported him. Pete was instrumental in our success but would be unlikely to be heavily involved, if at all, as he spent a huge chunk of time away from his family last time.
There’s also a Couhig who once done commentary with Phil. His commentary style united our fanbase as we finally all managed to agree on something…
I wouldn't be too sure that Rob has either the funds or the desire at his age and with the distance and abuse received, it seems more likely to me that he's either helping out a compatriot who is interested in buying you, or is working with a buyer who wants the club but not the training ground with our new owners exploring funding at least a partial buy out of that.
I wouldn't read to much into the non-statement if that's possible too, lots can happen very quickly if parties are interested.
Didn't he sell us because he's pushing on in age and doesn't want to make long trips here repeatedly? Having lost Pete as being his long term hand off as he couldn't be here away from family any longer himself?
Would be unreal if he suddenly turns up at Reading.
If I was Rob I would be celebrating getting out of football club ownership more or less unscathed. If I was him I certainly wouldn’t want to take my good fortune and jump into Reading!!!
As said before he could be acting as a go between .
Heard from a friend who supports Reading that the Supporters Group have told members to buy their season tickets via credit card to ensure they can get their money back if the club goes out of business.
He also said that one of their senior coaches has left for Brentford and many of the staff are leaving as they fear they will not get paid.
Such a shame if this is right. Not nice to see any club in trouble.
It's a game of chicken over sums of money that mean little, if anything, to a billionaire. He has a track record of being the proverbial dog in the manger, it looks increasingly like RFC can only be saved by someone willing to pay over the odds (like what happened with Derby).
We will need to keep a very close watch on what our new owner gets up to, but for the grace of of god will numerous bedsheets in the South Bucks area be converted into makeshift banners.
Don't worry, when ML eventually finds out about all my 'hilarious' posts comparing him to Bob Hoskins, I won't need to worry about season tickets anymore as I'll be a permanent part of the foundations at the new stadium.

The inability to access unless the link is in blue typeface strikes yet again. Could you give me a quick resumé (the gist) of what it’s about, please.

Reading geezer betting charges.
Quick recap
Guy in charge of player recruitment and football matters - dodgy betting
Guy in charge of negotiating sale of club - dodgy transfer dealings
Owner - charged in his homeland of being dodgy fullstop
It seems like Reading has a type
Less biscuits, more jammy dodgers then...
They're full of Artful Dodgers
Jammy dodgers more like, being the biscuit team.
Every now and again I visit the Reading fans forum. A lot of amateur Kieran Maguires living it up.
POTD
Thanks @Malone.

I love RC, but a warning to Reading fans: he will promise you the best toilets on earth and leave you disappointed.
Ah @Shev rumour has it that this closed season he’s had the decorators in and the result is quite frankly breathtaking.
Nice! I expect this means we are going to become bigger and bigger as more supporters turn blue.

The key scene in The Lom Good Friday where the IRA (Irate Reading Arseholes) blow up the Flint Cottage in protest at training ground stuff.

Not at all appropriate in my opinion.
