The Gasroom is a shining utopia of Wycombe-related reason and critical thinking, and I try not to look over the edge too often at the ghastly dungeons of social media writhing below, or at the ad-ridden monstrosities that are most other fan forums (actually, I do forum hop a lot, but for the purposes of this joke, I do not).
Yes I know what you meant. You meant club. Fans support football clubs, not teams. Players get transferred from one club to another. A team is a group of eleven players.
And yes, I do get cross when I see football clubs referred to as teams. But I’m glad you answered.
Looking forward to James O’Brien getting his teeth into what could well be a Labour/Lib Dem coalition. I think too many people are unconvinced by Starmer for him to get an overall majority.
Thank you, if there’s a vote for the classiest Gasroomer I’m hoping our downstairs cloakroom will swing a few votes my way , a virtual wonderland where I drop the kids off at the pool.
There's a simple trick where you can create a link which, when clicked on, takes a user to their profile page. You can then announce that 'The following user has been voted the greatest poster ever' and everybody will click on the link and think it's them. Brandy Alexanders all round!
If we ever do have Gasroom awards, I hope they are all extremely specific, like "most likely to correct grammar" or "most likely to post eight times in a row in the middle of the night, responding to themselves".
I like to think that, following a certain amount of criticism on here a few years ago for my occasional unsolicited grammatical comments, I have since led purely by example.
As a proud founder member of the Society for the Preservation of the English Language and Linguistics (SPELL), it’s the least I can do.
The chances of this making much difference to football governance is next to nothing. There are already rules in place that are obeyed by some and not considered relevant to many. Let's face it a large amount of clubs have dodged taxes down the years in one way or another and carried on, it's not like tax laws are new. The new regulator will come up with new rules and then the clubs will find the latest version of media rights to circumnavigate the regulator powers. Until some form of penalty system that is meaningful is accepted by all it is going to be another set of 'you are naughty don't do it again' frustrations.
Comments
I will just pretend it is going to happen, so that everyone is on their best manners all summer in the hope of taking home the trophy.
Some clubs do indeed have more horrible fans than others. Not sure the same applies to teams. They tend to change from match to match.
@OakwoodExile and @our_frank would win by a country mile.

I am sure you knew what I meant and it wasn’t me with the thumb down, I prefer to answer.
Could do a political party one, now that the General Election has beed called.
Hurtful
Could we please keep politics out of the Gasroom - if not, it's going to be a long summer!
Or a specific General Election thread. That way those who want to can debate, whilst others can ignore.
Spare a thought for me and @Shev We’re doing two election cycles this year!

First Rodeo?
Just putting this out there.
Debate? The only debate on here will be whether people should vote Labour, Green or Sinn Fein.
I'm currently living under an Islamic Consitutional Monarchy which, to be honest, is a lot better than the shitshow the UK has to put up with.
Back on topic........bedsheets.
Plaid Cymru?

That’s a classy bathroom.
Checking for underground bunkers with no internet or TV coverage as we speak.

My apologies to @YorkshireBlue.

I looked up S.P.E.L.L. , and it's on Facebook. I particularly liked this post:
The article doesn't make encouraging reading for fans. Especially the final bit about their current owner wanting it sorted in 7 days
@micra you provide a vital service, people need telling
The Gasroom was built upon political discussion
(and power stations, lookalikes, dead sea scrolls and grammatical arguments)
Government set to not actually do the football regulator stuff before the end of parliament apparently.
well that last coalition ended well for the LibDems🙄
