  • Seems like a rookie politicians mistake @Shev... Quick check on the internet for some slightly dubious statistics to back up an argument which subsequently turn out to be not quite true.

Time to double down on the numbers and start blaming Alan Swan for the errors.

Actually I admire the effort you put it and wouldn't have the faintest notion that any of it was incorrect. A rookie electorate error on my behalf!

  • Haha - does anyone have a better resource? I can revise the historical numbers accordingly.

  • I've just looked at the stats for 2025 and Kone is top in both goals and assists. Often Kone is the assist for his goal.

(The above might be wrong if we lose him this year)

  • A lot of good information can be found here

    WYCOMBE WANDERERS 100% indie site - www.chairboys.co.uk

Then look at the X-Players section, does not show assists but does show appearances per season and goals.

Cheers @wwfcblue - I have cross referenced with your link, and added in earlier stats, but only for the league era (so players such as Ryan and Carroll lose some numbers).

I am going with top fifteen now, with just the number for the next player in line, rather than the ranking.

Assists are a more recent statistic, and will have to stay as-is based on Transfermarkt.

If anyone thinks there may still be an error, let me know. If not, I will use this for all-time league era stats going forward. I may also expand these in the future to a top 30 or so, as any current milestones would be more noticeable.

  • One thing that stands out to me is that the leaders in all three categories were promoted with us from Leagues Two and One.

  • One from me: Bayo ended on 100 goal involvements, while JJ is on 99.

  • This looks a lot better now, thanks for doing this @Shev !

Ahh.. Brown, Ryan, Carroll and Cousins, what a team.

  • That's looking much better during our Adam's Park years.

It's looking a bit unlikely JJ will get to 400 right now, not even getting into the 18 matchday squad.

But he'll surely get at least 1 more appearance so has the chance of making that 100.

  • One reason it would be great to be safe early is for him to get at least a cameo run out last day of the season.

Updating this now as I will be on vacation for the upcoming game and beyond (though I'll try to jump on my phone to do the MOTM poll).

Congratulations to Dale Taylor on his 50th appearance!

    All time (League era):

  • Thank you @Shev , you do so much for us gasroomers and it is very much appreciated. Have a good holiday. ๐Ÿ‘

  • What would Ryan, Carroll and Cousins be on appearance wise if we included the non league days?

When you bear in mind Ryan had 2 serious knee injuries his appearance record is astounding.

  • Ryan - 517

    Carroll - 602

    Cousins - 473

  • Ryan would have been nip and tuck with Carroll without those 2 injuries.

  • I think Jesus would have still beaten him. Only Horseman (749) and Maskell (616) with more all time appearances.

Of the current squad I can only see Scowen reaching the 400 mark and he would require another 5 full seasons to get close, a tough ask for a combative midfielder who is already 31.

  • When you look at these names of our past and current players, how lucky have we been to support this club of ours?

  • Funny as it sounds, were it not for those injuries Rhino may have ended up making fewer appearances as firstly Martin O'Neill (Leicester) would have taken him, as would have John Gregory (Aston Villa)

  • I remember my John Gregory joining Villa and saying something along the lines of "my biggest regret at Wycombe was giving Keith Ryan a new contract".

It's intriguing looking back, as even within contract, surely Ryan would have been small change to a guy spending 40m or so in his early days at Villa? They had a mad spending spree and I remember topped the league early on and were scoring loads through Dion Dublin.

  • With the season about to start, here are the updated stats for current senior squad and all time (since entering league). It is very strange for JJ to be missing from the top of the current lists!

A reminder that Blooms has to manage another 38 games in all competitions to pass GA for combined games played + managed, so he will basically need to last the season to do so.

    Gareth Ainsworth: 118 played + 550 managed = 668 total

    Matt Bloomfield: 558 played + 73 managed = 631 total

  • Thank you @Shev ๐Ÿ‘

  • I'm not going to post a full update just three games in, but the thought of the day is that Sam Vokes scored his 30th goal for us against Birmingham. He has been a great servant, scored lots of goals...and is still only halfway to Bayo!

I know many of Bayo's were in L2, but still!

  • @Shev does Sadlier's cross for the first goal (the OG) count as an assist in these stats? I never know if they do or not

  • Both Sads and Kone deserve an assist for that one.

  • Unfortunately I don't think they count it as an assist, which is ridiculous in my book.
