I thought we used the same angle as iFollow. But from what I saw on WTV, it looked like a 50/50 challenge, both players in the wrong. From this angle though, it looks like he almost meant to boot him in the face (which I don't believe to be the case for a second, but you can see why it was given).
What an excellent match, right up to the very last kick. Both sides playing attractive, attacking football; our players all in their natural positions stroking the ball to another while bringing back some of that Ainsworth-era drive; a superb playmaker dictating the rhythm; three very good goals and some excellent shot-stopping from Max. Even going five (or six?) at the back was understandable given the circumstances and executed really well.
On Josh.... a very clear red card. The boot to the face was bad enough but what really left a bad taste in the mouth was the way he then threatened the referee, refused to leave the pitch, started having a go at the Bristol bench. An absolutely crucial player for us who'll be straight back in the team as soon as possible. But I don't think he should be allowed to remain captain after that display. It was the sort of attitude I'd expect from an under-11s player. I never quite understood why he was made captain in the first place - sure, he's the first name on the team sheet but he never struck me as a vocal leader, or had the referee-whispering charm of a JJ. I'd far prefer to see Grimmer as captain - eloquent, charismatic, positive and willing to get stuck in for his teammates.
Well now I won't be cheering on Rovers going up this season, the one thing I will be cheering on is Wycombe going down. Dam horrible lot. Thugs, tinpot club. Go away
Embarrassing, gutless, pathetic and season well and truly over. The only positive is that the squad are totally united - when one player is having a shocker everyone else comes out in solidarity and tries to match them.
I dont really ever seriously wish ill on other football clubs, bar City. But Wycombe, my god I hope they liquidate. Nasty nasty football club.
Rotten trading estate tramps.
I’m making a new year and lifetime resolution - I’m never going to watch a Rovers v Wycombe game again.
That was bloody brilliant. And it's far more than the result. It's the bravery, the character, the professionalism, the never ending effort. What an afternoon.
Quite enjoyed the shots of the BRFC players stretched out forlorn on the grass at FT like they'd just lost a cup final or something as well - relax boys, there'll be some fireworks along to cheer you up in a mo.

No chance of an appeal
Awful ref but also maybe 8 at the back when you've only got 10 men isn't ideal.
Talk about making your own luck though, much easier to withstand late onslaughts when you're already three up.
Well done to all under so much pressure, fair play to everyone who turned up today.
Now let's crack on.
Richard Kone should have enjoyed that one.
It's been a long time since second half limbs. That period of ten men scoring twice is going to be iconic if we kick on.
New Year Parties kicking off across the north of England
A message to Return to Senda..please do one!!

Bloomfield's 2024 record as a manager
100% win
Will you be setting up a MoM thread @Shev ?
The votes may have shifted somewhat during added time !
I love this club.
And no sign of the manager having lost the dressing room there.
Just done!
Only annoying thing about that is losing Scowen for three games. What a match, though!

MB will be feeling so much better tonight, so pleased for him.
Superb performance
Blooms officially IN, I would say!
Fantastic. A Wycombe performance from start to finish. Skill, organisation and desire. Brilliant showing.
Wholeheartedly agree.

I do think either Grimmer or Leahy for skipper
I love the taste of those salty Brizzle tears.
but also, in balance...
"Cox's best game in a Rovers shirt but the rest of the team have no interest in doing their job.
Fair play to Wycombe. They've deserved it on the basis of this performance."
What's your take @trevor ?
Who said comedy is dead.
Anyway pleased for Matt and to be proven wrong let’s hope it’s the start.

Prime 'ringing the blues' in a dodgy west country accent
Wonderful
Happy New Year Everyone xx
Today was the definition of a group of players showing that a manager hasn’t ’lost the dressing room’.
