I thought I was most annoyed at our diabolical 352 formation and the persistence with it, but I'm actually more sickened at the complete lack of effort today.
I fear this could get messy if MB stays which will be painful as he's a good person.
I don't think a short bad run will do for him (he had a poor start, and a poor start to this season) but a lack of ups might, we have injuries but don't really know our best XI if all were fit, add in some poor runs, tactical inflexibility, and some dreadful performances and it's starting to sound like a direction of travel. I'd love him to turn it round and be here for years but at some point that will look unrealistic, I'm sure for many it already is.
When the season started I thought that MB getting the can should only ever be an option if we were around the relegation spots at Xmas - we’re still not there yet, but no wins in the next few weeks and things will be looking bleaker.
I think I’d go to new year to see if anything clicks but if no change then sad to say I’d call it a day with MB, plus we would probably be in relegation zone by then. Hopefully we can turn this around but can’t see it sadly. Fingers crossed I’m wrong
Also, there is a point where I would have to be Blooms out if it was apparent that we really are battling relegation. But right now I see it as a bad run more than anything, because there is evidence we can play very well under him for a sustained period, hence the raptures posters were in a few weeks ago about not missing GA.
Going back to GA is not a forward thinking option. He derailed two of our seasons leaving, but the group has also changed a lot. I don't think it would be the same at all.
I like Matt a lot but that was just not good enough today and the players look like they didn’t care. Only Josh, Phillips and Pattenden showed any fight.
We simply have no pattern of play or pace.
The five at the back is now a real issue for us as we seem to have no movement up front and no linkage between midfield and the forwards.
Well at least our players on the bench had their blankets and hot water bottles to give them a bit of home comforts.
We simply got bossed by a League 2 side who lost at home to Newport last week.
I do think the irony in football is how fans talk about no more loyalty in the game when a manager leaves (I know we didn't do this with GA, but Oxford with Manning is an example), but fans will immediately want a legend ushered out of the door at the first sign of trouble - Bonner with Cambridge is another example.
I know we can't be loyal if we are genuinely going to end up in L2, but I don't think that is going to happen. I think we are in the Arteta first season situation, and we can stick to our guns with a young manager who has shown what he can do in the right situation, or panic and get in a Steve Cotterill or somesuch.
Let's at least get Leahy, Potts and Vokes back and see how we look. We are a Stryjek circus act away from having just picked up a solid point at Oakwell.
I Will have to change my name to loser if this poor performance becomes the regular performance of the team. Come on you BLUES get the game plan working
Yes, I think the only way he has to go is if it is obvious we are in a relegation battle. If we are not, for me he has to get into next season to see how he does. The longer managers get, the better they tend to do.
I see your point. I personally put last season under getting a head start on changing the style and the knock to confidence of GA leaving, and the two results to start this season as gelling issues. For me, this is the first spell since he has been properly bedded in, and even then, having injuries limit access to Vokes, Hanlan, Potts, Leahy, Grimmer, McCarthy, Jacobson, and KVY is a turn of events that would knock many teams off their stride. I don't think you can take that many key players out of any team and expect them to just chug along regardless.
If we still look awful with Leahy, Potts, Vokes and a true RWB back, I'll be more worried.

Let’s see what the next few games bring.

Doesn’t look at all like the players are enjoying it any more than we were
As above, I think the issues are much more injury based than Blooms based. He had us at the edges of the playoffs with a healthier group.

I agree.
Unless Ainsworth is available then sack him tonight.

He's had long enough
I'm definitely bookmarking this thread for the next good run.
Much as I respect @Shev, I think we should act decisively and early . Sorry Matt. I hope I’m wrong.
I can’t see there being any mileage in getting rid of Matt. We should certainly stick with him but things need to change quickly.
Yes, appointing Bloomfield was absolutely the right decision. Keeping him after last season was, however, questionable.

Almost every post you make is a miserable moan though. You can't deny that.
@Wendoverman give this the treatment .
And today we looked absolute shite at home to Morecambe who haven't kept a clean sheet for 7 games and lost 6-0(?) in their last game.
Even if Matt hasn't lost the dressing room, he has certainly lost much of the terrace.
We extended his contract merely weeks ago!
From what I hear, that just means he has lost the sound of silence and a few shuffling feet.
The first bad run was his first 3months last season.
But take your point and can't see him being under threat however this season pans out.
Unless it's literally losing every game and some shameful indiscipline on the pitch.

If he loses the toilets then it's over
Sad truth is, @Shev, it's they way we are playing that is sucking the life (and noise) out of the terrace.
You have to stop saying "first" sign of trouble?
We had a terrible run for his 3months when he came in. Then a terrible start this season. And now this.
While it's too early to talk sackings, you have to actually ask if we've seen enough good spells yet.
To be fair @trevor spent a decade saying the generic 'this is shite' which has a wide ranging brief.
