The first bad run was his first 3months last season.
But take your point and can't see him being under threat however this season pans out.
Unless it's literally losing every game and some shameful indiscipline on the pitch.
Your post and the mention of indiscipline brings me to the issue of G Mac waiting to come on as sub with his bobble hat on. Not indiscipline but pure sloppiness and lack of desire.
Yes, I think the only way he has to go is if it is obvious we are in a relegation battle. If we are not, for me he has to get into next season to see how he does. The longer managers get, the better they tend to do.
The absolute worst case scenario is we make a rash call now. Bring gaz back in and he can't turn it around either.
We'd end up with a compo bill and risk undoing the previous gaz memories.
Hypothetically speaking, let's say we sack him. Who is then leading the recruitment process? Is Andrew Howard still in the building?
I don't think there will be a process... Pete will phone Gareth up and say its his. Which I think is wrong, there should be a process. We should at least see who is out there and who fancies it.

I'm not gonna complain if we get Gaz back, but I think there's a lot to be said for a clean break.
Would Gaz even want to come back? Probably, but you never know.
Some less than regular posters on to.put in the boot and @trevor can barely stop posting. That must mean a bad game.
Management and tactics aside there were professional footballers out there who looked clueless...even Josh looked like he'd never met any of them before. I'm calling it a bad run...pleased that the FA cup gave us a bit of release from the trauma of the League...but sort of relieved I am not going to be at the Shrews game.
It was the continuity option and Ainsworths recommendation, jobs don't need advertising like they used to, they would have been made aware of who was available and made their choice.
I'm sure if someone external had got it and ruffled feathers whilst Blooms continued to do well at Col U and overtook us or got another job elsewhere nobody would have been happy either. It was a solid enough decision however it eventually works out.
If only there had been some continuity. But instead he's changed everything - and not for the better.
You'd imagine he would. But maybe not for a good few months.
After a recent sacking he might be wary about stepping into a struggling outfit.
You have to let Bloomfield get things back on track. And obviously hope Potts,Leahy and Vokes are back ASAP.
I agree with your point @Malone but I still think we need some pace up front and a change in the way we approach a game. At the moment our build up is so slow and deliberate.

Agree, To a point. You can't pretend to be something you aren't, be a plastic version of a manager second guessing what the last bloke would have done, or coach against what you believe in, but if you do change things you need to do it successfully. I'm not convinced he has changed that much stylistically, we might be passing more at times, we certainly aren't passing well.

We've lost our 2 big physical players up front in Vokes and Hanlan.
Without then D Taylor looks to be struggling and L Taylor is clearly trying to get match fitness back.
De Barr will always be a max effort bustling player but hard to see him ever being the answer either.
We were second to everything. Morecambe sat two banks in front of us and we couldn’t do much to break it down.
Ravizzoli was not an improvement on Stryjek. Missed three or four punches at corners, one we conceded from. Played the ball straight out to their player, just lucky they missed this week. Happy for Max to be dropped but he should be brought back in for Shrewsbury.
i have no idea what we are doing on the training ground. We had five or six good little inter changes and then back to passing it around the centre backs. Teams that do this well, take a risk and play it into feet early and they MOVE! Not just one player but several moving at the same time. We are static.
I wonder if we might bring Dobbo back in to help the coaching team. We need some inspiration.
Without Hanlan, Vokes, Leahy and Potts we are impotent. Hopefully the latter three will all be back before Xmas.
I see your point. I personally put last season under getting a head start on changing the style and the knock to confidence of GA leaving, and the two results to start this season as gelling issues. For me, this is the first spell since he has been properly bedded in, and even then, having injuries limit access to Vokes, Hanlan, Potts, Leahy, Grimmer, McCarthy, Jacobson, and KVY is a turn of events that would knock many teams off their stride. I don't think you can take that many key players out of any team and expect them to just chug along regardless.
If we still look awful with Leahy, Potts, Vokes and a true RWB back, I'll be more worried.
Yes, very wise to remember this…
“If we still look awful with Leahy, Potts, Vokes and a true RWB back, I'll be more worried.”
As I trudged back to the car hoping to get my ice block cold feet to warm up I had actually forgotten about these players!
L Taylor didn’t so much look like he’d been out of the game for 18 months he looked like he’d never played. Silly flicks. Falling over. Nowhere near headers. Lightweight in the challenge. A bridge too far for him and maybe retirement is the way forward.
We are two decent wingers away from being able to change formation. MB should have addressed that. We are unbalanced and have no plan A let alone plan B. I'm happy to stick with MB and give benefit of doubt due to injuries, but something has to improve in January.
People are talking about the return of Vokes like he’s a 25 goal a season striker. He’s actually an ageing, slowing, shadow of the player he was. If this is what we’re relying on, then we have problems.

Really? Isn't it just that th good ones get given longer?

It's exactly that. And I understand why, but I don't think people would be acting so generously right now if the manager were someone other than a club legend.
If only there had been some continuity. But instead he's changed everything - and not for the better.
Exactly.
He was the continuity candidate. He knew the players. He knew the style of play.
We knew was a good bloke.
It made total sense.
For some reason he decided to change the strategy completely. It happened almost immediately too. First or second game we'd dropped Wing back to the edge of our box to ping big diagonals to Vokes. Weeks earlier he'd been banging them in for fun playing further forward.

GA almost took the club into non-league. Arteta had an embarrassing season at Arsenal. Fergie took years to challenge for the league. Cooper was struggling badly with Forest early last season. Russell Martin had an abysmal run with Southampton. Etc etc.
Obviously some managers are just bad. My point is that if a manager has shown something - which Blooms has - they are likely to get better with games under their belt.

Rare show of support from @trevor for our beleaguered manager.

good point maybe it means somthing .
Hypothetically speaking, let's say we sack him. Who is then leading the recruitment process? Is Andrew Howard still in the building?
It means you take an exceptionally negative view on life..bearing in mind what a good last few seasons we had.
I don't think there will be a process... Pete will phone Gareth up and say its his. Which I think is wrong, there should be a process. We should at least see who is out there and who fancies it.
Have the Vokes sceptics worked out we can't get possession in the opponents' half without him yet?

No he's in the ice cream factory!

The premise was mouth watering.
Keeping the Wycombe spirit and environment but with a more appetising style of play.
Unfortunately we're not playing anywhere near a pleasing style, combined with not getting any results. The absolute worst mix.

So to conclude.. what you said!
Not much sign of spirit anymore either.
Least and Vokes were seen training on the pitch pre match which is good news
Well, dreadful doesn’t begin to describe today.

That’s what came to my mind. A really nice guy, but …….

I thought Grimmer’s post match interview was honest and encouraging.
It's exactly that. And I understand why, but I don't think people would be acting so generously right now if the manager were someone other than a club legend.
