Astonished people are advocating we ban Stevenage supporters next game. Would make us look like an absolutely pathetic, tinpot outfit if we tried it, and would penalise the majority of Boro fans who sat quietly during the whole incident.
I think it was just a sentiment, which I share although it’s impracticable.
I didn’t expect the majority of Stevenage fans to tell the perpetrators to sit down and be a bit respectful of someone in trouble but they could have made it clear via the club’s forums afterwards .
This is the sort of game that creates permanent bitterness between clubs. Unless something expected happens, we will be playing them at least next season too.
I always saw him a bit of a pantomine oaf, but that was some pathetic behaviour at the weekend. I wonder if in the cold light of day even for a moment realises that?
I would argue the problem with social media is the oxygen given to the dregs by those debating with them / getting upset or offended / highlighting their drivel.
Their behaviour would be snuffed out if it didn’t get more online interaction than sane and well researched journalism.
Watching Bloomfield’s interview on Wanderers TV, he commented , that despite Steve Evans saying he would be phoning Bloomfield in the evening to check on the well being of Hanlon and Leahy, he had heard nothing from either Evans or Stevenage. Evans is a poor example of a human being , totally lacking any class or dignity. Bloomfield again reiterated that we did not ask the game to be called off. Another one of Evan’s comments. Not sure who is worse Barton or Evans.
Here’s my dream scenario….last day of the season, Stevenage are in final play off place but we are 7th just a point behind them. They lose but we win to overtake them and finish 6th. Perfect ending!
Evans sacked and imprisoned for crimes against every type of style going and Stevenage and their woeful section of fans getting reacquainted with the conference south would do it for me.
I was always told - never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level & then beat you as they have a lifetime of experience in being an idiot.
I suspected as much at the time and like his fellow players was worried he had swallowed his tongue, you could tell from the tv that they were trying to make sure his tongue was not in his throat
Our players behaved magnificently through the whole ordeal, and Bloomfield conducts himself with absolute dignity and class. In the "things which really matter" stakes, our club did us proud yet again.
Steve Evans with an unsurprisingly distasteful and disrespectful response to Bloomfield's comments this week. First minute of this video: https://youtu.be/e61qJ8M_mZY?si=cmmhpt2FoOFy8Ht9
Steve Evans's speaking style does seem remarkably reminiscent of Donald Trump with the tales of tough strong men rushing to heap praise on him at every possible opportunity , good grief. But I'm glad there's a game on Saturday for us now, that seems like a wise choice to bring that forward and give the players a bit of a chance to get the bad stuff out of their heads on their terms
Definitely a narcissistic trait or two shared by those two. Trump may well add getting a suspended jail sentence for fraud to his list of ways he emulates Steve Evans.
Has anyone else noticed that Steve Evans is favourite for the Rotherham job? Not sure if that is based on actual activity, or if we are still at the bookie speculation stage, but the idea of him heading off to preside over a relegation while Stevenage fans receive instant karma is rather fun.

All I’ve read are excuses.
poor excuses.
Yes, banning their supporters would not be appropriate, even though I understand the sentiments. It would also probably provoke a tit for tat.
Next season, if we have to
playfight them again, we should just stick 100 in one corner and 100 in the other corner. Sporting advantage! If clubs starting banning away supporters because of the behaviour of a few morons we'd find ourselves watching most games from Vipienne.
Banning all the club's fans is madness...
No words.
Can think of a few.

Is a lifetime ban from Stevenage a threat.

People like that are not normally self aware

Us going up and them going down would be perfect but that would be a start.
That's an exceptionally polite version!

Or we beat them in the play off final 😉
From James Richings on Twitter:
Matt Bloomfield has confirmed that Luke Leahy will not be rushed back to the Wycombe first team.
It's also been confirmed that the paramedics treating Leahy were 'searching for a pulse'.
Bloomfield said: "It wasn't just a head knock."

Bloody hell

Stop feeding the troll.

All we can do ignore that bottom feeder, regroup and make sure we're prepared to do a number on them in the reverse fixture.

Didn't he manage Rotherham years ago?
Good shout - yes, 2012-15, just looked it up.
Take him back, Millers! Watching Stevenage swan dive would be hilarious.
