Unless they decide half an hour before the first game that they don't want to serve beer despite advertising it and taking millions in sponsorship for it like Qatar did.
Gulf states are trapped in an eternal dick measuring contest where they watch each other and try to get the upper hand. Saudi Arabia saw what Qatar did and will do better just to show them up.
I'd be slighly surprised if international football was still a thing in the late 2030s. It hasn't been the top level for a long time, and it's just getting more and more condensed with more and more games, more lower level teams. And something has to give eventually surely.
I wouldn't worry. The planet will probably still be here. Not sure homo sapiens and 93% of current animate life-forms will still be around to 'enjoy' it's annual trips around our sun though.
To get to the quarter finals, they've had to get passed... Fleetwood, Crewe and Sutton all at home. Followed by a good win for them last night away at inform Mansfield.
Does anyone else think it is very convenient that 2030 being hosted by three continents (though a couple of them only get a handful of games) meant that for 2034, only Asia and Australasia were eligible? Magically, this means that Saudi Arabia can host a tournament a mere twelve years after Qatar without serious competition for the gig.
A reminder that Sheppey United v Walsall in the FA Cup is on ITV4 and ITVX tonight at 7:45. Tier 8 v tier 4.
Also on tonight:
Larne v Cliftonville, NI Prem, 3rd v 2nd, 7:45 on BBC NI, iPlayer, Sport Online.
Greenock Morton v Dunfermline Athletic, SPFL Championship, 7:45 on BBC Scotland, iPlayer, Sport Online.
There is a cracker (literally!) tomorrow when Boca Juniors play Fluminense in the Copa Libertadores Final, at the 'neutral' Maracana. This is the home of Fluminense, the venue was chosen before the competition started. 8pm on BBC Three, iPlayer and Sport Online.
On this note, does anyone on here have connections with any South American teams?
For me, there is Colo-Colo and Universidad de Chile, who I saw play in an insane "friendly" on a trip to Santiago in 1999. Also, I have affection for Palmeiras, as my brother was married to a Brazilian from Sao (and has a half-Brazilian daughter as a consequence) and brought me back a shirt from a visit there.
QPR fans are almost all "in love" with their new manager, despite him not having managed a game yet. Over/under on how many matches before they are calling for his head and saying what a terrible appointment he was?
"Deportivo Wanka is a Peruvianfootball club, based in the city of Huancayo in the Peruvian Andes. It was founded in 1969 and is named after the Wankas people who formerly inhabited the area and after whom the city of Huancayo is named. The current Deportivo Wanka is merged with Deportivo Pesquero of Chimbote but its home city is still Huancayo. They play their home games at Estadio Huancayo. Their last First Division participation was in 2004. They protested against their relegation and were suspended from participating in any football tournament."

Another winter world cup.
Another one I won't be watching if I am still here in 2034. The top of the game is irreparably corrupt.
Won't they have built that crazy indoor city by then?
Already started it. As long as fans can have a beer in the stadium everything will be fine

A bit like Scotland England in a way....
North Korea are in for 2038 apparently.
You know there was a proposal for them to co-host in 2002. Genuinely.

Probably co host with Russia!

Just Keith Richards and cockroaches as the old joke goes.
The Taliban rumoured to be preparing their bid to host 2038
I note, not without some envy, that Port Vale (who beat Sutton, who beat us) are in the quarter finals of the League Cup.
Yep, a good win against a Mansfield team who were on a 20 game unbeaten run.
Draw should be interesting.

Losing to Sutton was bad though.

Convenient is not the word I would use @Shev
World : FIFA presided over a bent election to decide who got the 2020 World Cup, It's a disgrace
FIFA: We'll, we don't have to have elections if you feel like that
Monaco and Luxembourg City co-hosts for 2042
Getafe win 12-0 in the Copa Del Rey this afternoon but Real Betis looking like they may top that as they are 8-0 up after 43 mins.
My mistake 9-0 after 43 mins

Thanks for flagging the Libertadores final - that had passed me right by - will be intense for sure.

Franco Ravizzoli played for River Plate as a kid!
I've always felt a kinship with Peruvian side 'Deportivo Wanka'
From their Wikipedia page:

Sensational
