They're winning almost every tackle in midfield - harrying well then playing a fast, short ball on the deck that carves open our defence. The full backs are both looking out of their depth. It seems a match for Tafazolli to take control of defence, push Leahy up to midfield and help out Potts. He can't do all the team's defensive work on a yellow.
Frankly - yes. He's put himself about quite a few times. There are many times I've seen him have an indifferent game, and am happy to call it out when he does - so I'm not some sort of "defend Hanlan at all costs" type, but I think he's put in a decent shift so far.
He’s actually headed on a couple of balls and also done a lot of chasing. His run into the box late in the half was impressive until the defender left him on the deck (legitimately according to a fairly unimpressive referee).
I'm a big fan of Vokes, but Hanlan is clearly much better at things like pressing, running the channels, turning over possession and taking on a defender. He's had a relatively decent game so far given he's not had much to work with.
His attacking skills definitely exceed the defensive ones, although he does get back very swiftly and marks very tightly. I can see potential for him to take on the Scowen role in due course.
That was some outrageous pen celebration from Phillips, was quite relieved to see he didn't take it after that for pure inevitable jinxing reasons.
Interesting our commentary boys said no chance it was a pen when Potts fell and handled it in the first half and no word of such sentiments for that pen though .

It’s happened time and again in the last few matches. Is Pattenden at least partly to blame for cutting in too far ?
Disappointing since the goal. Defenders struggling without Scowen doing the legwork in defensive midfield.

Assuming the only possible values are 0,1 and 3, it's just based on xG. Seems completely pointless, though.

Can someone please explain to me why on earth is Hanlan starting over Vokes ?
It's a mystery to me

I think he's just young and slight. Gets pushed out by strength and experience
I thought Hanlan was very good at Posh. Didn't see him at home to Bolton but I think he has done enough recently to warrant starting.
Start Vokes and we are immediately encouraged to play long ball.
He’s a one game in 10 player. Wait til end of November

Really good start then Oxford comfortably on top.
Pattenden getting a bit exposed on his side, not quite enough going on in Central mid.
We looked more out of it v Bolton though, so fingers crossed for a Bloomfield master class.
And again too much hoofball. But once we get into the attacking third the passing on the deck has been pretty slick.
I love Phillips
He was going absolutely bananas!!
Not convinced that was any different to the penalty shout in the first half, but I’ll take it. Great penalty by Leahy.
Indeed @drcongo loved his celebration of the penalty award
Penalty buried by Leahy
now we need to focus and not sit back

I'll take it though!
I think the difference between that and the earlier incident is that the Oxford fella handled it again while on the deck, very deliberately
I'd have certainly been annoyed not to get it, but you never know these days.
Last half hour is going to be interesting especially which subs come on & whether they disrupt the balance of the sides.
We look like getting most joy with crosses. Need Vokes on for this
Woahh that is very harsh
Lol
Hahahahahaa
I would be fuming if that had been given against us
Oh wow
Unbelievable pen call, hilarious.
Just as well, as it was a woeful take from Hanlan, although can't be too harsh as his attributes allowed for the chance.
But nerves of steel from Leahy, very precise pen.
Can this game get any funnier?
