I’m expecting a “keep it tight at the back” negative grindball performance (like Bristol Rovers away) to snuff out the tippy-tappy football that Liam Manning sides typically favour.
We could definitely do with remembering how to defend after Tuesday night’s showing, in any case.
Who took Scowens place when he was sub’d on Tuesday? I thought that sub was done - partly cos of his yellow- but also with a view to have that partnership today, but we then shipped 2 late goals. So who knows?!
Replacing a defensive midfield with an attacking one while keeping Keogh in the team is... well, hopefully a masterstroke. Will be interesting to see how Potts responds to the pressure it'll put on him.
I'm another one who hasn't heard of Clark and that link above doesn't actually say what position he plays. Hopefully defensive midfield!
Grossly unfair. In previous matches (ie before the last 10 minutes fiasco on Tuesday) Keogh had been fine, winning pretty well every header, organising the youngsters alongside him and distributing the ball well.
GA stands for General Admission which, if theatre protocols apply, means you can sit where you like. Just as likely to cause a few ructions as having stewards trying to make people sit in their allocated seats. But probably fewer.

Haven’t seen anyone refer to it as the M40 Derby yet. Already a huge W.

Nervous

Not looking forward to this game if I’m honest.
Oxford and Pompy have been on fire at the start of this season and Oxford, like us, will want to respond to poor results last time out.
Will snap your hand off for a draw right now.
Could you take my left hand, please. Or does my 2-2 prediction give me exemption?
Any thoughts about Scowen’s replacement ?
I assume Wheeler will start but, if so, does he take up a central position or does he play on the right with Pattenden moving inside ?
I might need a reminder who Clark is

Score draw would very satisfactory here
To be honest I’d forgotten too.

A draw would definitely be a positive result, I see that Brannagan is starting for them who apparently they’ve missed lately.
Well, that didn’t wear well! McCleary suggests an even more attacking intent than we’ve shown recently.
Mcleary in for scowen. Change of shape with Leahy moving out of defence and into a midfield role and 4 at the back?
A lot to be asked of Potts this game imo. He has it in his arsenal but I can see today being a huge test.
Just the 8th or 9th time this has been posted on this message board alone.
Keogh plays. We’re going to need to score a lot of goals to win this.
No idea about the formation. I’d guess 4 at the back with Leahy and Potts in midfield, but clueless as to how the rest fit.

Probably Philips moves into midfield with GMac in his usual spot

Keogh * hides behind sofa *
I am visiting family up in Minnesota, so missing this one. Putting the MOTM poll up shortly, so it is there when needed.
Can already see there will be the normal problems with allocated seating.
Every season for this game the tickets are sold as GA and then they try and force people to sit in their allocated seat.
Keoghstone Cops
It's those who don't sit in their allocated seating that are the problem
You there yourself @Twizz ?
Clark is a young CB we signed from Needham Market in the summer.

Subdued Oxford forum seems to think it will be 2-1 and a MUST WIN game.
Gareth Ainsworth stood for lots of things as our manager, but I don't recall him being particularly vocal about unallocated seating.
