Does anyone know what’s happened to D’Mani Mellor, not seen him on Sutton’s team sheet for some weeks now, presumably injured, but it’s a loan that seems pretty pointless. Might as well have him back training with Wycombe.
Who was the last player we loaned out who returned and truly established themselves in the first team? Tjay has knocked on the door but never quite got there - I agree with whoever said the other day that we'll probably see the back of him before long.
After Sadlier was signed and Hanlan stayed, it became clear that Tjay needs to move on for the good of his career. I feel sorry for him - never truly given a chance. I think he’ll come good in League 2.
He had quite a long run of starts late last season didn't he?
Quite a few posters really championed him, but it never felt like he had quite enough to be a starter for us, albeit we weren't in a great run of form then.
The international break ruling him out of Tuesday is the sort of sod's law stuff that really won't help.
Would be mad to miss an international call up for this sort of game, but it would have been a guaranteed start for him, the next of which wouldn't be unti late November.
I still have faith in Tjay being able to form some part of our first team set up. He seems to me like a player who runs quite intelligent lines and plays across the front. A creative midfield can pick that out. But at the moment we have many good players in front of him that are deserving of a start.
We are starting to look like a 16 man team at last.
He is, but he's young, probably cheap and an option when and if needed, it will take it's natural course if he doesn't establish himself and someone else will get a chance to impress. No rush to do anything now unless anyone is offering. The international stuff is a novelty but gets him hard games and the odd goal against someone famous would do him no harm.
Ah yes a grand total of 28 league minutes (according to Whoscored, which doesn’t count added time if I remember correctly). An average of 5 minutes per game (excluding added time). That’s hardly much of an opportunity. You have to feel for him.
Mellor looked quite promising in pre-season, I thought this was going to his year, then he gets loaned again to another struggling league 2 side and still barely gets any minutes.
Imagine going from Man United to Wycombe to Rochdale to Sutton, and then probably Tescos.
Wallwork was a bit of a nutcase, he was initially banned from professional football for life for throttling a referee while on loan at Royal Antwerp, but the ban was reduced to three years after a civil court case.
I think that is rather unfair. It seems his development has been affected by a serious knee injury in 2020. He must have had some potential before the injury, as he made his debut for Man Utd in the Eoropa League when he was only 19.
Wonder where most of Mellors youth team teammates are now, probably more in Tesco than the EFL. United have hundreds of youth players in their extended system at any time but rarely bring anyone through who isn't actually an expensive purchase from someone else's youth team, not many homegrown regulars if any since Rashford. Class of 92 over 30 years ago now. Oddly Chelsea have done unbelievably well in recent years in production but still sell them all and buy others.

Someone needs to maintain the high standards. Innit.
Oh horlicks, I've been busted then, again!!!! 🙄😉
Missing in action:

He's been on and off the bench, but has hardly played a minute.
I see Max Cavana scored for Aylesbury.
I’ve seen nothing to suggest he has the potential to be a professional footballer. Harsh?
A little harsh, but it is hard to describe what sort of player he is, which is never a good sign.
The most baffling thing is he wasn't designated a development player and we went in with a 2 year deal.
'Professional' runs so deep these days that he could be, but I don't see an EFL player in there.
At least we didn't put one of those players on a 3-year deal. Wait...
It’s okay he looked quite good against Long Crendon in a Berks and Bucks game!
That was an even stranger decision as without any other exception, three year deals have been reserved for game changer big players.

TJay who hasn't now played since... Yesterday.

He's probably 7th choice and is limited to very late cameos.

I like Tjay.

Pattenden is making a good go of it but I don't think he'll be in the team when the senior RWB options are fit.
The next most recent is Stockdale I think, although quite an unusual case.
Nick Freeman of course.
Ronnie Wallwork went from Man United to Carlisle to Stockport to prison
Josh Scowen

Scored a decent goal at Aldershot.
According to FotMob Mellor had played 22 minutes this season.
