That’s the great thing about forums. We all have differing opinions, brother. I was high up in the Frank Adams so may have seen some plays that you didn’t.
As long as both agree to write today off as a one off. They say bad luck comes in three’s anyway… so with our result, the bad weather and England losing the ruggers to the pesky Welsh… I think we’re on for a lovely Sunday. ☺️☺️
He had a horrid debut and being taken off at half time must be brutal for him. I hope that there are enough characters in the dressing room to put an arm around him and to help him. That kind of thing can ruin a young player.
Another positive: we beat Burton 3-0 on the opening day last season and looked like world beaters. Perhaps we are taking the opposite tack this year, unrealistically lowering instead of raising expectations...
Start with a rubbish result, then immediately jump into a great run of form and ahem...appoint a manager who immediately hits the ground running and we make the playoffs?
No, that last bit is a bit naughty so I retract it.
I woke up today (slightly light headed… 🍺 🤪) and having watched highlights back… I think I may have been lying to myself a little about yesterdays ‘positives’. Maybe the euphoria of being back in the Frank Adams after a few months away, tinted my glasses a bit. 👍👍
Oh dear. You’ve fallen into the ‘warm up game’ trap. It means nothing, pal. That goes for all sports…. Pox battered my good friend Gareth’s QPR side just last week in one and they all got excited…. Only to be beat by lowly Cambridge without mustering many shots either judging by the stats.
Nothing personal about the pesky Welsh either, just not a huge fan of them.
Some of the anti-Bloomfield hysteria after one game seems completely mad to me, but then I have to remember that these are the same people who were calling for Ainsworth to go last September.
In fairness it isn’t just the one game. Although there were clearly mitigating factors one of the most disappointing aspects of the last two or three months of last season was just how clueless and disorganised we looked as a team.
Not intending to put too much weight on yesterday’s performance but someone on here (@Glenactico?) did a pretty thorough (and in my view accurate) analysis of our tactical ineptitude.
Again lots of mitigation around new players, systems, etc but there wasn’t a lot there that you could point to and say - yea I can see what we are trying to do.
I’m not for one minute jumping on the MB out bandwagon (he’s fully trained, he’s an intelligent and thoughtful guy by all accounts) but he is an unproven manager and coach.
He needs, and deserves, time and our support to see what he can do but I can understand the views of those who ask in a forum such as this whether he is the right person for the job at this time.
The answer will reveal itself in time. I just hope that time is some way off.

Mentioning rugby on the Gasroom? You are definitely new!
Football first 🤪
Yes, maybe you did have a different view high up in the Frank Adams, compared to my view from...lower down the Frank Adams.
keep calm. He might reveal who he previously posted as soon 😂
So you admit you can't see what Breckin did with the top of his head, then?
With the top of our new poster's head no, but being 100 feet up in the sky I could definitely see what Breckin was doing with his
Good stuff, mate! Have a great evening, whatever it is you’re up to. 👍👍 🍻
This is my first time posting, buddy. My lad told me about the forum a while back and I’ve had a brief scout over from time to time since.
I thought with the new season, I’ll give it a go posting. 👍👍
CHAIRBOYS!
Just joshing, good to have some new blood on here to share in the highs and lows.
Let's hope there are some highs soon!
Some more positives?
It is great to be back watching football again (even if most of it was played by Exeter)
The food offerings in the Frank Adams looked really good and there seemed to be plenty of people queueing up to sample it.
Thought that was a decent crowd for a game this time of year on an atrocious day for weather (apart from during the game)
(Only another 46 to find and we can balance out the negatives...)

Are we talking about Breckin or @AinsworthsSillyShoes ?
Just kidding - Welcome!! I think we will need all the positivity we can muster over the next few weeks/months/years...
Another positive: we beat Burton 3-0 on the opening day last season and looked like world beaters. Perhaps we are taking the opposite tack this year, unrealistically lowering instead of raising expectations...
Said the same with my STH pal.

You’ll struggle to find anyone as positive as ‘Mr Positive Pants’ over here. 👋
If I really do dig deep to find something negative from today, it would be the realisation of the need for the access road to get more bums on seats!!
Another positive. Kone got another hat-trick. Negative is, he’s now cup-tied in the FA Cup?
The exit from the car park was a joke today…super slow and looked very poorly managed.
The new spoof account is not a patch on “ding dong, landlord here” Bargey.
C- Must try harder
Tuesday will be interesting .
No silly, he explained, his son told him about the site so he's trying it himself.
Do keep up.
Any coincidence about this account starting just as another notable account stopped is pure coincidence.
How come all of this hate? I’m not a spoof, I was there today, I go to every home game and approx half of away games…? 😊
Didn't bargepole go to the London meet up last week? Fairy sure he's very real!!

Bloomfield will be gone soon
Pesky Welsh? I was there among the 65,800 and the mighty Wales hammered a very pathetic England in the second half.
However, can’t see either team doing anything special in the upcoming World Cup.

Some are the same people.
Others like me never once wanted Ainsworth gone yet were nervous about this appointment early doors.
Still , it's one game in, a new day, new positivity, many more games to come quickly to forget this one.
