For a double heart-attack be-caped grandiose pomp rocker (ice skating dwarves and all) Wakeman does seem to recognise the ridiculousness of it all and is probably great fun to have a pint with. (If he's allowed to drink nowadays...)
(The SKy XTC documentary had a sequence where Andy Partridge said something like 'I hope this isn't going to be one of those documentaries where Rick Wakeman turns up...' CUT TO Wakeman 'Oh,yes I remember XTC...' )
Back on TV atm, which I didn't think it ever would be ! Thatstv channel on sky. They show it every night. Lots of old programmes for people that fancy a trip down memory lane.
Maybe GA is holding all of the adoring Wycombe-based Cold Blooded Hearts fans hostage until QPR get Forino? An incredible negotiation tactic. Once Chris signs, the gig is back on!
Sadly Don Estelle was typecast by the lofty role, towards the end of his life he had to dress as the character and sell his CDs in shopping centres .
He was actually an accomplished vocalist but I think he was born too late. Id like to imagine if he had found fame in the interwar years he’d have been an international star.
Not sure that maybe an option looking at the abuse he is getting on the QPR fans forum. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s sacked before Christmas. QPR are a basket case of a club.
A few on two games here, more related to not being able to turn around momentum from the last season or disagreements over signings by the sounds of it, although Sturrock was basically sacked because he looked scruffy and neither players or fans had any respect from him out of the lower leagues.....
Gaz unlikely to rock the boat publicly over budget although he's getting the stick for it. He will know that like the circumstances here he probably wouldn't have got the job initially if they had much money.
Not surprised about the quality of the album, given the type of songs that were evidently played when GA & PC had the AP playlist chained to a radiator in the basement. However, I would guess GA had tremendous fun making it. I just wish he could have made periodic announcements about the progress:
"Track 4 is doing well, should be complete soon. Track 7 is a way off, but we're hopeful."

I much prefer 3 chords for 3 minutes over all the chords for 40, but Wakeman does seem like an incredibly likeable bloke.
heh, heh. Will look out for that. The Edgar Wright Sparks one was in that vein. Very wry.

I saw that as well, very funny,
oh and XTC, underrated but influential one of my favourite bands.

Wow, perhaps he had better try and stay in football management then.

Christmas sounds like a distant pipe dream
I give him until October
If they get hammered on Saturday that might be it.
Has a manager ever been sacked after the first game of the season before?
Poor Hannah Dingley didn't even get one game before FGR dumped her after getting some free publicity.
