Don't know where to post this, but puts everything else In life into perspective... don't know how to post link, but news coming out of Stevenage that Daryl Horgans kids are in hospital fighting for their lives
Remember a particularly weird bit towards the end when Sanchez had fallen out with most of the squad, Him, Rammell and I think one other were loaned out when we had nobody better.
Rambo to Bristol Rovers and Sean to Exeter i think. Just a hunch of course, but it did seem that Lawrie was trying to get every other experienced voice out of the dressing room.
Out of interest, Gareth and Oneill are clearly way ahead (and Bloomfield too early), would Sanchez qualify as third best ever manager or is that Brian Lee.
Sanchez tried to "rehab" him for ages, before finally realising he was way off the supreme player we had before.
Before absolutely snapping, treating him like dirt and insulting the whole supporters base by suggesting we wouldn't even have noticed him leaving if he hadn't scored 2 goals the week before!
If Sanchez had left in the summer of 2001 then probably yes, but as that didn't happen, I would put Brian Lee third. Sid Cann might also be in with a shout, but it was a completely different era, and he never picked the team.
Brian Lee was before my time but arguably now ranks first with unmatched achievement or contribution to the club. If you apply what he did had he started in L1 who knows where that sends you.
Sanchez and to a much lesser extent Lambert's Cup achievements are impressive , Sanch kept us up too.
I know he's not universally liked, he waived some fair coin about and cleared off a bit quick but having seen the end of the sm*th era I'd always rated John Gregorys spell highly as it turned the place around and hugely improved quality.
Being at the Reading away game and my school pal saying "come on Devine, do something with it" about 5 seconds before he lashed a 25 yarder in.
The madness of at one point playing Rammell, Devine AND the Falcon as a mad triple up.
Even now I can't understand how Sanchez possibly thought that'd work.
Poor Falcon got Sanchez's rage a bit too, didn't he?
Always looked amazing against us, but was pretty standard for us. But Sanchez would go on about how he had his "nice house in Aylesbury" as if that was some sort of incredible dream, that meant he should produce magical things for us.
Interesting what a generally top bunch of managers we’ve had (Smith & Adams aside - although their cv’s should have produced considerably more for us some of the others for us).
For pure entertainment value I go Gormania. Every game was going to have thrills (& spills). And he signed my favourite ever player - Sergio Torres.
My first game was under Sanchez, and I think it was my only game that season (02/03) - so I'm kind of a child of Adams. It's a miracle I'm still a fan today.
IIRC he bought the players over essentially so we could have a go at them, and then we turned on him instead. I think there was a rumour on the terrace that he hadn't bothered to go in the dressing room at half time. If i could remember what i said i'm sure i'd regret it today, but i do remember thinking how surreal it all was. I don't think it was particularly heated, everyone was just fed up.
In hindsight the most surprising thing is that he lasted another six months in the job.

Confirmed here, terrible news.

Our thoughts and best wishes are with you Daryl, hoping they pull through okay.
That is dreadful news. Echo @Twizz comments - thoughts, best wishes and hope for their recovery
His partner posted a photo on instagram yesterday suggesting they were back home now, so hopefully they are through the worst of it.

I can’t access Instagram but that sounds like very good news.
Sounds a bit banal in the context but pleased to see KaiKai (Kaikai?) on the scoresheet again.
This is brilliant. Well done Fred.

Fred had a good grounding with the Wanderers.
Started some work for a new client today, mentioned I'm a Wycombe fan and Sean Devine got an instant mention as a 'Champ Manager legend'
The nature of Sean’s injury remains one of the great mysteries of the Sanchez era.

I'd forgotten about 'rehab in the first team.' What a time to be alive.

So yeah, quite happy on this fence.
Some mad memories of that period.

Was about the sum total of his time with us. Came in highly rated and did nowt.

Whoops, yup, Def top 5/6.

Were you in the thick of that?
Can you remember what sort of stuff he was saying? Were you close enough?

Nice memories.
The meltdown near the end didn't spoil the quality work he did at the start, but it was really ridiculous stuff.
Lasted two games even after they sacked him. That's pretty rare.
Massively overstayed tbh and then was pretty bitter about the players not respecting him.
Anthony Grant has signed for Crawley.
