‘Everyone at Wycombe Wanderers would like to thank Erbil Bozkurt, who will leave the club this week after a short period as Head of Goalkeeping, in which the Blues won all four matches, keeping three clean sheets, and wish him well for the future.’
Let’s look at it another way, the club needs to generate addition revenues to cover the forecast deficit in order to break even and maintain our current player budget etc. Much more positive as opposed to just accepting it and doing nothing apart from taking an axe to the playing budget. 👍
Do you think now that Matt is manager he will finally move down here with the family ? That's a hell of a commute if not, his kids are pretty young, better now than when they are older and settled at school
Tough on Erbil, but having Harrison back , gives us two of the senior management team that understand our culture and what makes us tick. Good news. Hope Erbil finds a job back at QPR but he may have been replaced already.
Would have thought he’d have gone with Gaz yesterday if that was the case and we could have got compo for him rather than, I suspect, paying off his contract.
We don't know if he left there for us because he wanted to be head of department or wanted a change though. It looks brutal on the write up but I suspect that they deliberately mentioned the stats to help his chances going forward.
I suspect the promotion to head of GK was precisely the reason he came to us and would be shocked we, as a club, didn’t try and big him up to help his chances as , ultimately, it’s absolutely brutal on Erbil he’s gone from relatively steady employment at QPR, promotion to head of department with us to now being unemployed in the space of about a month.
Yeah, makes a lot of sense for us in this case, Harry's obviously close to Blooms and knowledgeable about his preferences as a manager and our setup. Plenty of clubs allow managers to just pick their mates, there's a bit more to it this time.
Incidentally Johnny Gormans book is a bit of an eye opener for that, seems like for about 30 years as player and manager he got a ring every few months, or a bit longer if he's lucky and then made the call to his wife to look at sorting housing.
Wish Erbil all the best btw, very unfortunate for him.

We must have signed Lee Harrison nearly as often as Jason McCarthy.
Lee's coming back as Head of Goalkeeping, so I assume it's just a department expansion
Doesn’t sound like it

Oh
Great to see Blooms has bought in his own team.
Have to feel for poor Erbil though. Football can be so brutal at times!
Brutal is an absolutely spot on word!
Slightly surprised Lee is coming back as the Col Utd job was a lot closer to home for him too wasn't it?
But maybe he feared the exact same scenario happening to him!

Is it not bad luck to stand on the club badge?
Surely Erbil just goes back to QPR... would be a bit weird if he didn't, wouldn't it?
Has it been announced who Blooms staff will be?

TBH I genuinely hope GA & Dobbo do take him back with them. The results speak for themselves since he has been here. 🤷♂️

Aged well
Matt looks like the cat that got the cream arriving on that first interview video. Welcome home, good luck COYB!
A flippant response from me on a cr@p day. Sorry
Great stroll round the park with Matt and Phil. Matt's barber looks brutal. Is that the fashion these days @ReturnToSenda ?
I mean... I got a buzzcut because I cba with hair anymore
Shrewd. As a baldie I would suggest make the most of your hair whilst young. But it's cheap and easy to maintain a shaved look. Some women love it too
He is such a good bloke. I am sure he will do really well as he loves this club.
Col U have a vacancy

but that’s the life in football I guess.
Sounds identical to my loose ‘link’ into the club! Haha
No worries it’s been an emotional week @LX1 😉👍
"We've got Matty Bloomfield and Thommo is number 2!"
