Matt Bloomfield’s interview with @bluntphil whilst strolling round the perimeter of the Adams Park pitch a few days ago was the most intelligent, thoughtful, articulate and above all modest I have heard from a football manager in decades.
Blooms was heard reaffirming the scouting message for sam grace to take out to the country: If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit join our club.
I think the biggest thing for Blooms is to avoid falling into the trap of thinking 'What would Gaz do?' in any given situation. I'm sure the great man has already imparted plenty of his infinite wisdom, but Blooms needs to make this his Wycombe from the get-go. It's crunch time.
This is a very good point. My main concern (as far as managerial continuity) has always been the culture, and I think we are safe there, so it will be interesting to see how he makes his mark on the games themselves.
Appalling ignorance from Merson! Seems to have got his opinions on Wycombe and Ainsworth from a mate! After pretty much saying that Wycombe didn't have any "footballers" Clinton Morrison provided Mehmeti as an example of the good players that had played under GA at Wycombe, but Merson clearly hadn't heard of him! Actually got quite fractious between the 2 of them. Embarrassing stuff from Merson!
So now the question is did he only sign for 15/16 months when he arrived to originally expire this summer which sounds quite low, or was it to summer 2024 originally?
I think it was GA refering back to John Beck (?) as an influence who told him that looking after the players/talent you already have is just as important as looking for the new.
Good to see that we have embraced that philosophy, with this and Josh Scowen's extension too.

Must have sounded like a professor against those two clowns.

Yes Blooms hobnobbing with @bluntphil was a great reintroduction.
Chance grasped with dexterity @perfidious_albion ! Hobnobbing indeed.

Matt Bloomfield is a humble man, certainly no Boaster.
Great days ahead. We shall have our cake and eat it.
Somethings definitely cooking at Adams Park.
Thread starting to get rather half baked

Merson talking shite on SSN for a change
Or twice baked.

That period away will be key. He'll have his own process and routine now.

If QPR fans were concerned about how he might get on with "flair" players they should Google Eze at Cambridge.
On the QPR forum they were trying to suggest that Mehmeti was the "only" young player we'd ever sold under Ainsworth!
I had the misfortune to read Merson’s autobiography on the recommendation of a family member.
It’s the most poorly written book I’ve ever read, consisting mainly of tales of ruses he used to fulfil his masturbation ambitions.
I felt dirty after reading it.
of course 👏 .
Cough.
Blooms has now raided Col U for their first-team analyst. Decent.

Matt agrees one-year extension to his contract
.
Assumption of 1 year? Not mentioned.
Congratulations Matt, it's so good to have a manager who loves the club as much as we do
It’s mentioned in the video on the club’s official Twitter feed.
Ah thanks.

Excellent news.
Today is a good day.
Happy to see this.
